Hi,

I have wanted a puppy my whole entire life. I am 12. I found a great Shih-Tzu breeder. Her puppies are $650. I really want one but my mom said no because we don't have enough money, even if we don't get it for 2 months. I really want one and I need money making and convincing ideas. My mom knows I am great with animals because I volunteer at my local shelter and I have a kitty that I love to pieces. She knows I can tackle the responsibility. She's worried when I start school that no one will be home with it. (both my parents work) I told her it would be okay but she said it might get agression problems. I think if I helped with the costs she might agree to it. She is a total dog lover but for some reason is saying no. Someone help please!!

My Australian Shepherd female really cut her paw pads up badly during a trail ride in the mountains this weekend and can barely walk. I've been opening a vitamin E capsule and putting the oil on her pads, but don't know what else I can do to help her.

I have a doberman pinscher that is 9 months old. His ears were cropped 6 months ago and one of them will not stand on its own. The vet won't give me an answer and has practically abandoned me. What it looks like to me is that the cut that was made on the ear that won't stand up doesn't have enough cartilage on the side of the ear. If anybody needs more info just ask.

I have several that I hate and I don't think I can choose one above the other, as they are ALL EXTREMELY frustrating.

IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER:

1. "I can't afford a vet - what do I do?"
(It's your pet for crying out loud! Take it in anyway and figure something out later!)

2. "I want to breed my dog"
(There are SO MANY "unwanteds" in shelters being euthanized every day - why would someone want to be such an irresponsible contributor to the overwhelming problem there already is?)

3. "I want a free or cheap dog"
(If they can't afford to buy a dog, then you know darn well they won't be able to afford proper care!!)

4. "My dog is pregnant - what do I do?"
(Oh! If they would have only been responsible in the first place, it NEVER would have happened!)

Another thing I find very irritating is people wanting a certain breed, getting it, then having problems with it. THEY SHOULD HAVE DONE THEIR HOMEWORK and made sure that the breed will fit their lifestyle!

My friend is taking care of a friend's dog. I know for a fact that this dog is part pit bull. Last night my friend's mother was talking to her friend. The dog was on a leash and the dog bit the friend. She broke the skin and drew blood. Today my friend was playing with her dog and the aggresive dog bit my friend's dog. My friend told me that her mother is going to tell the owners when they get back from vacation in 2 weeks that they should have the dog put down. Do you think this is the right thing to do? If not, what else can be done?
Thankyou

My dog just died yesterday and I know that eventually I will get over it, but that could take a long time. Could anyone tell me how I could get over it because I always cry when I think of her and I miss her so much.? Should I get another dog to replace her and be really sad when that dog dies or should I just get a different animal or no animal?

Well my dog is turning three in november. He was always aggressive from when he was a baby. We've tried to get him out of that habit but it seems to stick. We've tried electric collars (that DON'T hurt him) treats, peanut butter, and now we're turning to the vet in hoping there is some medicine out there to help calm him down. Any suggestions or things we can ask our vet? Right now putting him down or giving him up because of his aggression is NOT an option. Please help!

I can almost copy and paste most of my old answers to the new ones that are asked and lately that is all I have been doing. Is it really that hard to look at the similiar questions as you type out the question you want to ask? If you see the question has been asked a dozen times isn't it feasible that you will find the answer you need?

I'm writing for my sister who's vet called and said her dog's bloodwork shows lyme disease. Her dog is fine, running jumping playing. The vet said she might have been bit 1 or 2 yrs. ago. Is this possible with showing no signs of the illness after all this time? Can she have had it all this time? He said he can prescribe an antiobiotic for 30 days but it would make her sick on both ends and she's not sure what to do. Her dog is acting as fine as she's always been. I know what lyme disease does in a human but not what it would do to an animal. Don't you think the dog would have swollen joints and be in pain and not eat and sleep etc.? Her dog is and has been fine. Please tell me what you think as she's waiting for me to tell her and I just don't know. Thanks

There is a questionnaire/ poll sponsored by Sports Illustrated. I think the powers that be will be watching very closely to see these results. Over 28,000 people have already voted and I think if we all vote this can have a serious impact on the behavior of players, the NFL and the sponsors. So, please take a moment to do this!

I have a big dog (rotti) and 2 smaller ones. Can't afford groomer's fees, they are all short haired so I know it's not something that is necessary very often. I just want an easy solution to doing it.

Tiny dog saves baby from rattlesnake Mon Jul 23, 1:38 PM ET

Zoey is a Chihuahua, but when a rattlesnake lunged at her owners' 1-year-old grandson, she was a real bulldog.

Booker West was splashing his hands in a birdbath in his grandparents' northern Colorado back yard when the snake slithered up to the toddler, rattled and struck. Five-pound Zoey jumped in the way and took the bites.

"She got in between Booker and the snake, and that's when I heard her yipe," said Monty Long, the boy's grandfather.

The dog required treatment and for a time it appeared she might not survive. Now she prances about.

"These little bitty dogs, they just don't really get credit," Booker's grandma Denise Long told the Loveland Daily Reporter-Herald.

I think they are all the same. The aspca estimates that only 10% of animals shelters get are neutered/spayed. Tell me your opinion! Just want to know!

Is there a fertility pill for female dogs. Like there is for human women. i have a dog and id like to be abile to keep her infertile when she comes in heat. i don't want to get her fixed because she is a pure breed rat-terrier and i do breed her but on the occasion i don't id like to keep her from have a mixed litter, not to mention if she breeds with a large breed dog it could potentially be dangerous for her an the pups.

p.s you could say restrain her to keep from getting pregnant but kenneling for a long time is cruel and were there a will theres a way when it comes to dog mating .
