I can almost copy and paste most of my old answers to the new ones that are asked and lately that is all I have been doing. Is it really that hard to look at the similiar questions as you type out the question you want to ask? If you see the question has been asked a dozen times isn't it feasible that you will find the answer you need?

You know Tom, you are right but it is getting really boring seeing the same questions over and over!! I do not want to take the fun out of YA but I would just like to see some unique questions asked that are worth answering. My experience does not touch yours but it would be nice to see something different, that might may me have to actually think. The questions asked here daily are for the most part are no brainers and for a change wouldn't it be great if real questions were asked?

You know, on a serious note, I do not know if you ever seen the quality of answers when knowledgeable folks do not answers. It is really sad and pathetic!!!

Ginbail, I never judge aquestion by spelling and most times I do not even take notice but if these are kids it is really scary because it means they are learning nothing from the adults in their lives.

As I have stated before, there is a systematic and well orchestrated dumbing-down of pet owners, and the effort is worldwide. I point to YA>Pet>Dog to support my analysis.
Why dumb-down pet owners? Simple. When they are too dumb to be trusted to care for their pets, then no one can be trusted to own them.
How is it working? I think YA effectively demonstrates that the other side is doing a better job at making them stupid than we are at keepin' 'em smart. And you ask why they can't research on online data base ... one which prompts them to do so when they type in a question?

I agree - I went on vacation for a week and even though I had internet access, I pretty much stayed off answers. I am back, and same old same old. However, there are a LOT of questions on here and they do get "buried" pretty quickly. (e.g. some of the questions I answered last night are now on page 8 or 9 this morning) When you want an answer, you ask, you don't look through old questions and spend the time. I would say that it stems from the laziness of society. I teach and students ask me a question and I will say, oh we talked about that exact thing on Tuesday and they look at me like - you are going to make me look it up??!! - it would be soooo much faster for me if you just GAVE me the answer.
However, what I don't get are the questions that, if the person took the SAME amount of time typing the info into goggle, or yahoo, they would get their answer that way (e.g. how long will my dog be pregnant??!!! argghhh)

There is nothing new under the sun and so maybe to you, the same questions get asked over and over again. For the people who ask a question, they want an answer now. Not many of us have the time to go over every question asked to see if there is repetition. I'm sure someone will read your question and be just utterly amazed because they have asked the same thing, but then, maybe not in exactly the same way.

I keep in mind that most of the people asking these questions are honestly looking for genuine advice, and this may be their first visit to this forum. Just because it is a simple or repetitive question doesn't mean it shouldn't be answered. Young children in particular may ask what you consider "stupid" questions, but they are the ones who need to learn the most! We should encourage them. Now, "what should I name my hamster" is not my favorite question to answer either, but we need to consider that many people are just looking for help. When I was new to the computer, I had no idea how to Google an answer myself! As far as people with sick animals are concerned, I've been in the veterinary field for over 20 years, and I must tell you that there ARE vets out there who do not give good health care and information to their clients and patients. They are like anyone else in any field, whether it is M.D. , auto mechanic, lawyer, etc. There are good ethical ones who can really help you and there are quacks. No wonder there is so much confusion, especially when it comes to someones beloved pet. Let's show a little compassion, huh?

Does me providing you with a BA help any? lol No I see no benefit in blending in distinctive breeds, that purely complicates issues much extra. to end advancements you do what people have been preaching for a protracted time, wellbeing finding out what we are in a position to. sure somethings like anasarca and HOD have not got tests yet, yet they are in works in step with the BCA and the WCA's efforts. Sending samples to the learn centers is what is going to make this technique pass swifter. wellbeing could be each breeders (a minimum of each good breeders) selection one million priority. collectively as there is not any longer a attempt for each little thing, there are a number of tests with some being DNA based. i in my view do no longer understand if i'm making any experience, um i want extra sleep, have not had caffeine right this moment so i'm engaged on empty.

I think it happens in cycles. Right now we're at a time when the questions are really bad, or they are juvenile, and / or fabricated.
Sometimes we seem to go through a whole week with good questions and answers.
The better questions are usually asked by knowledgeable dog people who are seeking information, or they're challenging folks to use their minds and think a little more than they're accustomed to.
The Judge is right. Weaker dog questions and answers are generally given by children who won't use common sense, and are often very poorly written. I can understand their lack of experience, but I can't forgive their poor spelling, horrible grammar, and their inability to write a sentence correctly.

but yes the same old behavoir problems and health problems....or life threating ones. i mean if ur asking just to see what everyone thinks and the vet is where u are heading that day or tommorrow. but i always getthe feeling that the vet is not where they are going....

I so agree with you! Seems like other sections are going through the same thing. St Lady beat me to it, can't wait until school starts!
The ignorance goes further...thought you would be interested in the local news I seen last night. There was a story on a German Shepherd and they spelled it SHEPARD. Unbelievable!
Have a good one!

Your absolutely right Shepherd girl!
But then they won't get any e-mails! I was away for few days and the same questions are here again as they were before I left. When your typing in a question answer's already come up to similar ones already asked. why waste the points unless you want some e-mails.
I just don't get it either!

If it makes you feel any better, the dog forum isn't the only one experiencing this. I answer in fish and reptiles, and the same thing happens there. (and other forums too, I'm sure!)
I guess everyone figures they have a "unique" situation, or they just don't want to be bothered to read through a few previous questions to find one that applies to their situation/problem.
