i had the same problem and im 13... i REALLY wanted a dog and all my friends had one but my parents wouldn't let me have one either...i finally got a german shepherd about 4 years ago...and i got another one 2 years ago... wut i did 2 earn $$$$ and impress my mom was i walked dogs in my neighborhood for like $5 each walk and i volentered at a shelter...but since u already have ur mom thinking u can take care of it, well u dont really have 2 do that... i would say sell some of ur stuff that u don't use (like have a yard-sale or eBay) like anything u can live without...stuffed animals, old computer, anything to make some $$$,
oh and remember that the $650 is not all the money ull have to spend, theres vet bills and food and toys, stuff like that...
HAVE FUN WITH UR NEW PUPPY!!!!
BEST OF LUCK!!!!

Jill, as a volunteer at a local shelter, you should be happy that your mom is showing responsible pet ownership.
There is more than the initial cost of the puppy involved.
There are vaccinations & other vetr bills, registration, and feeding costs.
If no-one is home all day, this could be a real problem, as puppies need companionship and exercise. A cat is more independant and can deal better with being alone during the day. A puppy would nopt be happy in this situation.
Sorry, but I think your mom is right!

Sorry, but I have to agree with your mom on this one. I agree with her on the fact that there isn't enough time for your family to raise and train a puppy. Puppies need alot of time and energy, and as school comes closer, it seems like your family is losing time. Also, it takes a long time to raise 650 dollars, and that is just the simple price of the animal itself. There is vet check-ups, de-worming, spaying or nuetering, numerous vaccinations, food costs, supplies, toys, and other needs. For now, I would think about purchasing another cat, bird, ferret or rabbit, or fish tank. This way, you can still enjoy taking care of animals, untill a better time for a dog comes. Try starting a pet-sitting business, so you can be around dogs and continue working at the shelter (which is GREAT!). Good luck!

she's saying no because she is a dog lover and knows family circumstances are not right for a puppy......... she says you's can't afford it, it's notonly the cost of buying a puppy that's the issue here, it's also things like food and vet billsshe is worried about........If she says no and means t then sorry you ain't getting a puppy........
the dog will be bored with everyone out all day and may destroy the home...........

Adopt one from the shelter you work at. get a dog that can be left home alone for a few hours. I would say get a puppy though so it can get used to the cat and not attack it right away. hope i helped!

What you need to do is take charge and look for a puppy. Make sure you get a puppy thats already trained that way it wont rip apart everything in your house. Oh! And make sure its potty trained too.. and that should seal the deal when you show a pic of it to your parents. -Goodluck

yet another ingredient you ought to bear in techniques is the fee of an animal. We spend approximately $500 for our dogs a three hundred and sixty 5 days. that may not something particular, merely the well-known checkups, pictures, ear cleanser, tick repellent, heartworm pills. Then much extra for meals, leashes, collars, bones, treats. coach your accountability by utilising getting a job to help help your puppy. Babysit, mow lawns, shovel, heck....volunteer on the defend. a number of those could no longer practice to you, yet get resourceful. in the journey that your keen to artwork to grant on your animal, no longer merely are you lots extra in all probability to preserve it, even with the undeniable fact that it is going to coach your mothers and dads your are extreme.

She is probably thinking about how the dog would be at your house alone almost all day.
