I run my dog and I come back drenched in sweat and that little guy just gets a little water and he is good to go.

Dogs regulate heat by panting. They sweat only through the pads of their feet, but it's not enough to cool them. Be careful overheating your dog in the warm months, heat exhaustion/heat stroke is very common right now. In humid weather it may be nearly impossible to expel enough heat by panting to cool sufficiently. Hose him off before and after running to lower body temp, offer him water frequently, and only run in early a.m. or in the evening.

Yes, dogs do sweat, but very little. They have very few sweatglands and most are in their paws. They do cool themselves by panting and breathing but they need water often. Check my source for more in depth information.

dogs can't sweat. That is why they pant. The use their ears and foot pads to cool off

They regulate their temp by panting not sweating. It's probably saliva.

Nope, they lose heat through panting and also through their paws. That's why it's important not to walk them on a hot day on top of hot pavement.
