He's 5 months old and my 4 year old I believe stomped on his foot. My son weighes about 45 pounds. My dog yelped for about 3 minutes afterwards but wont bare any weight on the foot now. He isnt yelping any longer and when I bend the leg he doesnt try to bite or yelp. He's laying down sleeping now. My question basically is do I take him to an emergency vet (which is very costly) or do I wait it out till morning to see if he gets better?? And if not better just take him to our vet??

My dog is used to running free in our 6 house neighborhhod as everyone loves her - she is so friendly and gentle. New neighbors buy empty house and their little yappy dog comes up the street and starts barking at my dog - she leaves the yard and nipped it. A few weeks later the neighbor came up and said my dog was in their yard and swatted at their little dog - I went and bought pet fence and started training. While at work the other day - my dog was called down the street by kids - their dog was out and not in their yard either and my dog shredded it - $6,000 vet bill. After 1st incident new neighbors tell everyone they hate us and are going to kill our dog - yet the kids call for my dog to leave the yard everyday. One time teh girl had her dog sitting on my property line calling my dog - trying to start trouble. Because of their kids taunting my dog and the fact that we were both wrong - neither dog leased or in our own property - should I pay the whole vet bill or half?

Okay... The family Dog ( a medium sized mixed race 7 month old) found a tube of silicone adhesive. I was out of the room and I have no idea how long he was chewing and licking on it. I took it away from him and gave him a ton of water. He drank a lot and he seems to be okay now...but is there anything else I can do...

P.S. I know I should take him to the Vet but I have none of his info, no money, and I can't find a Vet in my area who can take him until tomorrow at the soonest.

The vet has done a scratch test to see if it could be a form of mange. The test was Negative for that. He's on flea meds. I'm not sure what else could be causing his hair loss. We give him a bath once or twice a month. I don't think it's just dry skin. My puppy is a 17 week old Weimaraner.

I have a litter registered Great Dane puppy, her name is Mary Jane. She is brindle and completely gorgeous, she has a teeny white marking on her chest and on a couple of her toes and no black mask. I have no idea what to register as her AKC name...any suggestions?!

I do have a couple specifications- she did not come from a named kennel, so anything "kennel name..." is out. And I would LOVE to have her name have something to do with the beach, as we are in Florida.

I look forward to getting everyone's suggestions! Thanks!

Today, we took my auants dog she had for 6 years to get "euthanized". That means she practically took the dog to get a shot to die slowly and painless. it was so sad cuz we use to love that dog.

they had no other opition, the shelter wouldnt let anyone adapt the dogs that were all there, they would just kill them all. is that legal?

I know it has to be because his eyesight is going and maybe even blind one day.Is there anything I can do to prolong his eyesight or prevent him from losing it totally?Leave lights on?Certain foods?I'm worried because my neighbors dog went blind and she ran into walls and I would be devastated if that happened to my dog.

She's about 2 years old in people years. She has problems with greeting people. Always jumping on everyone. I know this is a sign for attention but I want to know if its too late to take her to a obedence school or something.

Also when we are out @ the dog park she doesn't like other dogs. Gets along well with most people. She gets extremly jealous when I play with other dogs and actually attacked another dog due to me playing fetch with the other dog. she loves to play in the water. I want to take her swiming with me but i'm afriad she'll runaway.

This dog was my Brothers dog and he's abandon her and i've grown to like her and i want to get her the proper training.

I also have another dog in my house hold. An 12 year old beagle(people years.)

One more thing. Is there a list online on places i can take her to get training in the washington D.C. area? and how much do you think it will cost?

My Yorkie-Poo (yorkshire terrier mixed with poodle) has a blister or zit like thing on her back. It didn't seem to bother her too much although she was licking it. I noticed it, and cleaned it, pressing on the area around it a gooey puss came out along with a more firm "head," I cleaned it with a damp cloth and put neosporin on it and then covered it with a bandage. The wound has a decent sized hole in the center of it and is weepy (a clear blood tinged liquid). Does anyone know what it is? What would be a good course of treatment? I don't want to take her to the vet and have them say just leave it alone it will heal on its own and then charge me $75 (kind of poor right now). Please help!!

I need some advice. I recently took my dogs to Schutzhund training for the first time to see if it was something they would be interested in, and if it was something that I wanted to do. Of course, I have 2 male German Shepherds, and I am very interested in the sport, however, I was completely discussed at what I witnessed. I have studied dogs and dog behavior for the past 5 years, and I love my dogs. They do what I ask, and I rarely have any major issues. The people that were training their dogs, however, were literally beating their dogs. One guy got mad at his dog, took his hat off and just kept hitting the dog. On top of that, the dog had a device strapped to its body that if the dog did not keep his body close to his owner, he got shocked. The same guy was telling another owner that when hos dog was in the middle of the jump over the wall, he was to jerk the leash hard. Is this the actual way to train for Schutzhund?

I know good and well that 8weeks is better, 12 weeks best, but the people giving away pups are going to bring them to the shelter like, tommorrow. My sister has her heart set on one of these (free) jack russel/beagle mutts and I don't want to say "it'll be okay" and thn not know what to do, or say "no way" and not get her one.

So what should you do to socialize a 6week old pup away from mom and siblings? We have a seven month old papillon and four cats, would that be enough to let it happen naturally?
