My cat loves to steal my Mountain Dew so I'm trying to get him a commercial gig so I can retire.
I haven't seen any reports on this, but due to the massive amounts of dyes and chemicals in soda, I think it probably isn't such a good thing especially if it is a small dog. Coke actually has acid in it that will eat metal and I know dogs stomach linings are very sensitive to ulcers. I would cut back on the soda. Water is best for dogs. Sorry Fido.

Definitely not ok. Carbonated beverages are not standard for a dog's diet. I'm not understanding how this isn't being prevented from happening, short of a unique dog capable of opening a refrigerator, retreiving a can and biting it open to shotgun it. Is this a real question?

You're the intelligent human, capable of reason. The question should be, why are YOU allowing your dog to tip over the soda can? Don't put your dog in a situation where he/she is able to knock over a can and, voila, problem solved!

There is a lot of sugar and caffine in both of those soda's. It's not a good idea for him to be drinking it.
I would make sure it's always up somewhere that it can;t be knocked over.

He He....I can relate! My dog grabbed a pan off the gas oven while we were gone and turned the gas on!! Luckily we weren't gone long:)......Its our own fault, so know we don't leave anything around she can get to.
Call your local vet. They can tell you over the phone.

Not really no. Dogs should not be getting sugar and caffeine, especially not in these amounts.
How about you just move the bottles out his reach?

My dog tries to tip over my husband's beer so she can have it. We don't let her drink beer and I don't imagine the soda pop is much better.

I don't think it's lethal, but certainly not healthy either. Is there any way you can make it so he DOESN'T spill it, like say, put it out of reach?
