...to not want to have children, because I am so attached to my pug puppies???? I ABSOLUTELY LOVE them!! I just know if I did have kids, that would mean time spent away from the puppies, and I don't know if I like that idea. I know it seems really odd, maybe there is something wrong with me..or maybe kids just aren't my cup of tea?? Who knows. Anyway, I ask some of the most pointless questions on here, just wondering if anyone else is childless due to their complete devotion to their furry children...pets??

Our dog is almost 13, and she's a cur- mix: hound, retriever, shepherd. At midnight, we were awakened by a thud. She had crashed down onto the floor between my night table and bed (odd!). When we got her standing in the middle of the room, she was panting heavily and seemed out of it. She began this episode which continued for about 15 minutes: she would stare down at a place ahead of her, then she would jolt ahead with a few quick steps, as if she were lunging for something. Then she'd stop, stumble, turn around, pause, and do it again in a different direction. She refused to go "back to bed," despite our urging. Instead, she would walk into her bed, try to sit, and then she'd jolt forward again. Finally she slept, and this morning she was back to herself again. Prior to this, she's been on Rx to stop her excessive biting (of paws, legs, back, belly). She's been on Joint Max and Previcox (for her arthritis), but now she's also on fish-oil pills, benadryl, and Cephalexin.

In the paper today I was reading about some men who have been arrested due to the fighting of pit balls. Anyway, the article also said it is illegal to own a pit ball! Since when has it been illegal to own a pit ball?? And what happened to all the pit balls when this so called law came into force?? Were they all killed??

She is in a fenced yard that goes around my manufactured home, yet she still breaks through and gets out. I put her on a long chain, but then animal control came and gave me a ticket and said that I couldnt have her chained for more than 3 hrs per day.

I have a three yr old australian shepherd. She has always been pretty calm. One day her and another dog went running and were gone for 9 hrs! She came back and slept for about three days (she got up to eat but slept and was really tired). When she started to get some energy, she was walking around with a slight limp. We checked her out and noticed a TICK... but no where near the foot she was limping on. We just called the vet. But what could she have? Lyme Disease? Please help me! I'm worried

I have a beautiful full blooded boxer, and I am interested in studding him out or buying a female to breed him with. He's one year old. I believe the people I purchased him from said that the father was papered, but the mother was not. I can contact these people if necessary, but I thought it would be as simple as some bloodwork to show that he is full blooded. I can't find the information I need on the web, so I'd appreciate any info. Both parents were on site, and there is no question that neither of them were mixed. Martinsville, Indiana

I know there is no official "miniature labrador retriever", but is anyone out there trying to breed smaller labs? I have a female black lab (both parents are registered labs) who is really small. She should be 40lbs MAX 45lbs when shes full grown. Shes 6 months old right now and about 34lbs. I am not sure if i want to breed her, but if someone is trying to breed small labs, she might be able to help. people always want smaller versions of large dogs.

He is a shih-tzu and I noticed he wasn't holding his tail up like normal so that's when I found the rubberband. He acts like it's sore but no crying or whining. Going to call vet 1st thing Monday morning, but I am kinda researching for info. I do not want him to be in pain or maybe it cause problems. Daughters only 5 and was playing with flowers and must have put a rubberband on tail to hold the flower on for him while playing dress-up the puppy.

She has not been moving around and when she does it is on 3 legs. She hasn't been eating and only drinking when I bring it to her. We took her to the vet this morning and they said it was her knee cap - everything else was fine. She NEVER had this problem before the surgery.
