I am a Labradoodle breeder and I get so tired of breeders advertising them as nonshedding and hypo-allergenic because they are not. However a Labradoodles coat sheds less then a Labrador's because a labradoodle does not have 2 coats live a lab. The labrador is constantly shedding the downy undercoat and will shed the outer coat during the season changes. The more poodle traits and the more percentage of poodle the puppies have in their genetically the less the shedding will be. Hope this answer helps. By the way what generation is your labradoodle?

Labradoodles DO shed, regardless of what your breeder told you. Poodles do as well, but with their coat, the hair that does shed out needs to be mechanically removed from the guard hairs (brushing&combing).

Labradoodles are being bred and sold as hypoallergenic dogs. All this means is that they are low shed and their produce little to no dander.

Take your labradoodle to a groomer and when she is brushing and combing him/her out, stick around and see how non-shedding it really is. I betcha there will be piles of hair in the brush!

Some of these dogs have a low shed coat so this could be the reason that he is shedding! It really depends on how much lab is in him! The more poodle the less likely he will shed! the more lab well hes gonna shed like crazy!

HUH? Would NOT and won't mean the same thing

Lab's shed because their hair dies and they need to replenish their coats for the up coming season, either cold weather or hot weather.

Since a labradoodle is half poodle I would assume the poodle trait of not shedding is transferred to the cross.

What?? He said that they wouldn't shed, 2 times and the darned dog went and shed anyhow?? I would contact him to see if you can get some of your money back.. If he promised that the dog wouldn't shed.. You paid too much for the dog!

Labradoodles, if that's what you want to call your mixed breed dog, shed. If the guy told you they didn't, he lied.

Same reason your hair comes out when you brush it, or even if you don't brush it. Hair renews constantly and that applies to animals just as much as humans. You will never find an animal that doesn't moult unless it's a stuffed one!
