When you figure it out, let me know. It's a territorial issue.

When your dog is out etc you need to train him on a lead while walking on the street or in your garden where ever it is there is the most people. Does he only do it in the garden? If so it is his way of trying to let you know there is somone about.
In the street, on a lead with a half choke (nylon coller choke chain where the lead attatches)
When you see someone tug on the lead say no if he goes to do this again repeat keep doing it on every walk until he gets the hang of it, he/she will quickly learn that barking @ people is not allowed, you must be aware of what your dog is going to do & when for this to work, you have to get there before he does.

I would say to buy an anti bark collar. It is a collar that shocks the dog every time it barks. I had this problem before. My dog barked constantly. It got so bad my neighbors were actually calling the cops. The collar really works.

I have anti bark collars on my 3 dogs right now and they all are quiet. They can still bark once or twice before the collars kick in. Some times I put them on with no battery and they bark once and look at me, like I'm doing something magical.

You should not restrain yer dog from barking at people who are stranger for him.Its good that he barks at strangers cause he makes a perfect sentry at night. In an opposite situation which I faced with my dog,who was always shouted at, by me when he started barking at outsiders. When a theft took place in our house, the dog did not bark thinking he would be shouted down by us.So now you know what to do aint it.

My youngest dog barks constantly. We had to get her a shock collar. She knows what it is, so now we can just put the collar on her and she will not bark even though we don't even turn the collar on.

Shake a coffee can with pennies inside everytime he barks. This will startle him, so he will forget about what he was barking at, and after many times of shaking the pennies, he will stop his bad behavior.

there are a couple of things. Carry a squirt bottle of water, and squirt him and say NO in a deep voice when he does it. Or, a can with rocks or beans or something to make a noise... shake it and say NO. The deeper voice works better than your regular voice. Good luck

Watch the "Dog Whisperer" and adopt his techniques. He is incredible! If you can afford it, hire him! You'll be amazed! The show airs on Animal Planet/Discovery/The Learning Channel. By the way, your dog is actually doing his job so don't be too hard on him. You can also go to the dog whisperer's website, his name is Cesar Millan.
