Hello,
I would recommend a Toy Poodle!
I have a 4 year old male and he is fantastic!
I also owned a female Toy who lived to be 16 years old, and was just as great!.
In my experience a toy poodle is an amazing choice.
They are extremely playful and affectionate, easy to train, and non shedding. In the many years I have owned Toy Poodles they have not had any health problems either, which is a wonderful bonus.
Also, I have pretty bad allergies and have never had any problems with
my dogs.
I couldn't see myself owning any other breed!!!
I hope this helps.

I just spent 4 days with my sister's jack Russell/Chi mix. She was sweet and very trainable. Hardly any hair shedding with lots of energy for the beach, walks and jogs. Please read up on dog behaviors and care before getting a dog..hopefully you will visit a shelter for dogs needing a good home. You had a maltese mix a few yrs ago...what happened? Good luck. Also if you want a certain breed read up on them too. Read read read and watch the animal planet for shows on canines. ARe you ready to take care of an animal for the next 16-17 yrs?

Basenjis are beautiful dogs! They don't shed, they don't smell, they don't even bark! They are good sized (medium), they have amazing markings, they "talk", are extremely loyal, very intelligent and stealthily protective. I think the Egyptian ones have the more prominent qualities than the African ones - you may want to research that. Make sure you have the time and space for having a dog and the Basenji will fill your life with joy, love and pride!

So many people keep saying that all dogs shed, so I suppose it is true. But my shih tzu sheds so very little, I NEVER find hair around the house. The shih tzu is a precious little companion that you would love, and they are cute as a button!

There is no such thing as a "totally" non-shedding dog. All dogs shed at least a little hair at one time or another, as do humans. There are however dogs that shed little to no hair. This is a list of breeds that shed little to no hair.
