I have a beautiful full blooded boxer, and I am interested in studding him out or buying a female to breed him with. He's one year old. I believe the people I purchased him from said that the father was papered, but the mother was not. I can contact these people if necessary, but I thought it would be as simple as some bloodwork to show that he is full blooded. I can't find the information I need on the web, so I'd appreciate any info. Both parents were on site, and there is no question that neither of them were mixed. Martinsville, Indiana

If one of your dog's parents wasn't registered, you cannot register your dog as AKC or CKC (Canada). However, there are other organizations where you can register your dog like the website below that registers all members...notice the initials are the same as the Canadian registration organization

There is NO bloodwork that can be done that wil lprove he is purebred..Unless the parents are registered and the litter he came from was registered and you were given an individual registration application or transfer of ownership paper your dog can NOT be registered in ANY legit registry.

Even if he did have papers from a legit registry 1) he is still too young to be used for breeding 2) He needs to have and pass genetic health testing (OFA/PennHip, CERF/PRA, tyroid, etc), 3) he needs to be either shown or evalauted to make sure he meets breed standard 4) he needs a complete pedigree research to check for breed standard, health, temperament & longevity

A yorkie poo are not able to have papers because the pass isn't identified by means of the akc or every other registry but. I say but seeing that the puppy registries now admire puggles and different fashion designer breeds. The rate you pay for the combo is as much as you for those who desire the puppy. You can attempt to negotiate along with your pal, however she has the correct to promote the puppies for anything she desires. There are plenty of men and women watching for the small fashion designer breeds, whether or not you're or no longer.

The AKC does not register a dog (for breeding) unless BOTH parents were also registered.

You can get an ILP for him (indefinite listing privelege) but it is useful only if you want to enter him in AKC sponsored events, such as obedience, agility, and field trials. To get the ILP you submit photos of the dog, along with a form and fees.

Still not what you need for breeding. Even if you breed him to a registered female, the pups are going to be in the same boat that he (and his dam) were.
Best to leave breeding to qualified individuals who know the breed standards and breed dogs to improve such.

Hi---Sorry to disappoint you. Both the sire & dam (mom&dad) must be registered with the Canadian or American Kennel Club, in order to register your fellow. Your fellow would have to be registered also with the above organizations by the original owners with identification (i.e tattoo number usually found on the belly, inside lip or ear). Hope this helps

BOTH parents must have papers to register the pups. sorry, the best thing you could do is have him fixed. if you are serious about breeding do your homework first and get a different dog from a good breeder.

Yes, contact the breeders, if they can be registered the breeder would know ! But breeding should only be left to the PRO'S, especially Boxer type dogs, they have big heads & can have problems delivering pups, often needing C Sections, which can be very costly, it is major surgery !
