I think Boo has a tapeworm, or multiple but at this point we don't know. Her spay is set for Wednesday next week, but I don't know if this could be a problem/setback which would be bad as I *think* she's entering her first heat (six months old, so not a shocker.*

I've noticed small, white, bean-shaped pieces in her poo. Could that be a tape-worm? What's the treatment/cost? I can't for the life of me figure where she got it, except maybe from her bad start (i didn't realise this pet-store was like all the others, sue me. I won't do it again).

Thanks for any and all answers.

when we were housetraining our puppy we gently tapped him on the nose and said 'no' every time he went to the bathroom in the house.. my uncle recently told me that this can cause a dog to lose his sense of smell.. is this true?!?

I think they call them buster collars? Not sure? But them ones that make them look like lampshades.

Anyway my rottie just got one after being neutered, any ideas how to make it better for him? hes finding it very weird and keeps bumping into stuff and getting scared.

Or will he just get used to it? hes got to keep it on for 10 days!!

the local feed store around here sells the 7 in 1 shots for puppies..... of course if i ask the vet, they say it's not the same as theirs, but they come from the same supplier as the vet.... would it be just as good to give my puppy these shots? and no, i didn't get a puppy i couldn't afford, i know there are people that are gonna say that, he is a stray that we rescued, & i want to make sure he is protected..... so please, knowledgeable answers only, i really would like to know if i'm doing the right thing by getting these shots from the feed store & giving them myself (and yes, i know how to give the shots)

I saw this dog a few weeks ago and the only way i can describe it is that it looked like it had dreadlocks. It was a very large black dog. I overheard the owner say what type of dog it was but I can't remember what it was, I do remember that he said it was a rare type of dog... and i believe (but i'm not sure) that he got it from England... any ideas on what type of dog this is?

19/04/07 yesterday he was eating but then started to be sick(3 times in the day) then this morning he wouldn't eat and was sick again. we took him to the vet and he didnt have a temp, so they gave him an I.V. (i live in china and don't really trust the vets) then they sent us on our way, he has been home for about 6 hours and no change, very weak and legs wobbly when we walks. he is happy with his tail wagging just very weak. he just wants to sleep and is not interested in food and drinks very little water. about 2 weeks ago he had kennel cough(again the vet just told us to let him stick it out with no medicine and didn't say it was kennel cough. i guessed it was from what i know about it and the symptoms) but he has been fine for a little over a week now till yesterday. and advise? he also just stand with his nose on the floor not smelling just stands there. he hasent been sick since we came back from the vet, but then he hasent had food all day eather.. . .
20/04/07..i took him to the vet again today, he had blood test. his blood , liver and kidneys are fine, but still wont eat, drink and is very wobbly when he stands. he is vomiting yellow frothy stuff(i think he is hungry) and just exhausted. he had a nother I.V today with a bunch of drugs and stuff to re-hidrate him as he now has not eat or drunk for 2 days now.

So I just got a bichon frise puppy. The owner told me if he tears a lot, which causes staining under the eyes, to use hydrogen peroxide to wipe the staining away and then apply baby powder afterwards. Well the hydrogen peroxide doesn't seem to be workin all to well. Anyone had similar problems with their own dog and found a good solution?

the side affects are being thirsty & more hungry, but she is like really hungry and its really hard to see her always so madly hungry 24/7 , im really thinking its not worth it, could you tell me about your experience with your dog and these tablets, only people who have /had a dog on these tablets need respond please

I was driving when I saw these two dogs roaming an empty parking lot looking for food. so i stopped to feed them some chicken.

one of them looks like a 6 month old puppy (he/she bit me really hard when i picked it up) and the other is maybe 1-3 yr female that looks like hasnt eaten in awhile, as her ribcage is showing. But she also looks like she gave birth because her **** are swollen and drooping all the way to the ground.

i am worried that she has a litter that she was nursing and they may die if i keep her here.....

so should i return her to where i found her? its right next to a highway so im worried they may get struck by cars. neither has tags btw.

I was wondering how well the over the counter stuff works for de-worming your animals. I have a lot of pets, and it would be nice to be able to get the medication without having to take them all in and pay the office visit for each of them. So I was just wondering if the stuff they sell at pet stores would work just as good as the de-worming medicine they use at the vets office.

I wasn't asking if my dog was violent I was saying that she wasn't. Does anyone know how else I can respond to people when they answer my questions with a question other than going to the ask question box... So I can just respond and not confuse other people who may not have saw an earlier question and seem to get offended and misunderstood my response.

2007-04-19 17:10:33 · 3 answers · asked by debra_ql 2

A few people responded earlier, so if you havent seen that question you wouldn't understand it. Basically to those that misunderstood I know all pits are not dangerous OTHER people fail to realize this. I have called the animal rights humane society a few hours ago and they pretty much told me that I have to sign over my rights, then they will run some tolerance tests and if my dog passes she can be put up for adoption and if not that they will put her to sleep. She is around six children everyday mine and my friend and she has NEVER biten anyone. BUT for some stupid reason whenever someone asks what kind of dog she is and I say shepherd mixed with pit they freak out like oh no I dont like pits theyre violent and attack people...she is only two yrs old and has been a house pet since birth only time she goes out is to use it or when we're traveling. So I'm simply trying to find her a good home where she won't be mistreated. Which is easier said than done. Some people are cruel.
