19/04/07 yesterday he was eating but then started to be sick(3 times in the day) then this morning he wouldn't eat and was sick again. we took him to the vet and he didnt have a temp, so they gave him an I.V. (i live in china and don't really trust the vets) then they sent us on our way, he has been home for about 6 hours and no change, very weak and legs wobbly when we walks. he is happy with his tail wagging just very weak. he just wants to sleep and is not interested in food and drinks very little water. about 2 weeks ago he had kennel cough(again the vet just told us to let him stick it out with no medicine and didn't say it was kennel cough. i guessed it was from what i know about it and the symptoms) but he has been fine for a little over a week now till yesterday. and advise? he also just stand with his nose on the floor not smelling just stands there. he hasent been sick since we came back from the vet, but then he hasent had food all day eather.. . .
20/04/07..i took him to the vet again today, he had blood test. his blood , liver and kidneys are fine, but still wont eat, drink and is very wobbly when he stands. he is vomiting yellow frothy stuff(i think he is hungry) and just exhausted. he had a nother I.V today with a bunch of drugs and stuff to re-hidrate him as he now has not eat or drunk for 2 days now.

Try Pedialyte for children it has electrolytes that will hydrate. Give him this for a couple days I am really surprised your vet didnt send you home with some. You might want to look and see if the food your feeding has been recalled

Have you tried feeding him something other than dog food? Whenever my beagle is sick, I make up some plain noodles or white rice (no oil or butter added) or some plain cooked chicken, given in small quantities, and try not to let him inhale it (as beagles so like to do). These are a little easier for the body to digest and where it's "people food" he may be more willing to give it a try. You could also try adding a small amount of chicken broth to his water and see if he'll be more willing to drink a little, fluids are much more important than food if he's vomitting up bile. It's not incredibly common in beagles, especially not at such a young age, but if his stomache is hard, it could be related to bloat. Or it's possible that he may have eaten something that got lodged somewhere in his intestines, or even worse, he could have a knot in either his stomache or intestines. Has the vet taken any x-rays yet? Beagles are notorious for eating all sorts of things they shouldn't..
I'm sorry, but other than that I don't know what to tell you. Let him get pleanty of rest and keep pushing him to eat and drink, if he doesn't get any better within a couple of days, or if his condition worsens dramatically, I would maybe try to seek out a second opinion as far as vet goes. Though if you're out of options, hopefully they'll be able to do a little more for you than they currently are.
Best of luck to you and I hope that your pup will be okay!

I feel so bad for you. Is there another vet you can take him for a 2nd opinion. This doesn't sound normal and I don't understand why your vet isn't giving you anything to help him at home. Is there any people food (chicken, hamburger, hotdog, etc) that he likes that you can see if he'll nibble on? I would be trying to get him to eat something. Our puppy likes icecubes so you could try giving him a small icecube to chew or let melt in his mouth for him to get some water. I'm glad that they've given him an IV to hydrate him but if he's not eating or drinking at home, you'll just have to take him back again tomorrow.
Good luck!!

It sounds like he ate something disagreeable. Do You have mouse/rat poison that he could have gotten into? Him not wanting to eat is a result of the vomitting. He would, I'm sure drink tea, which has a chemical counteracting the poison. The tea won't hurt him if the problem wasn't poison. It does take 12 hours to work. He needs to have fluids anyway to re-hydrate due to the vomitting. Good luck.

You may want to try a home-made diet for a while, if she is drinking. If she's not drinking water, pedialite, or anything, then you might try ice. Sometimes dogs will lick ice when they don't want to drink. Once she's tolerating liquids, then try the recipe below.
Our dog had liver problems and we fed her this diet for at least a year (before she started tolerating dog food again). Mix chopped and cook hamburger with cooked white rice and chopped up scrambled eggs. The mixture was 1 cup rice to 1/2 cup burger to 1/2 cup eggs.

What kind of food did he eat ? Are you aware of the recent pet foods recall ? Don't know if it exists in China, but I'll bet it does since the wheat gluten allegedly came from there.
I would take him to another Vet for a second opinion.

It almost sounds like parvo "The symptoms of Parvo include high fever, loss of appetite, lethargy, vomiting, depression, dehydration and severe and bloody diarrhea. In the most severe, and rare cases, puppies can have sudden heart failure. Parvo symptoms mimic other viral bowel diseases including Canine Coronavirus. Blood and stool work must be conducted in order to confirm Parvo"
Did they check for this when you took him to the vet? It could either be that or...my sister was holding a poodle for me. My nephew and niece too her to their dads for a visit where they kept her in a garage and i believe she ate some antifreeze. she had the same symptoms as what you are describing...could he have eaten something shouldn't?
"Symptoms of antifreeze poisoning include excessive thirst, diarrhea, panting, vomiting, convulsions, wobbling and increased urination"

Holy cow. It could be one of several issues. Parvo, intestinal blockage, food poisoning, chemical poisoning.
The yellow stuff is stomach bile. You might want to try to find another vet. Obviously this one is not helping your dog.
Try a little boiled chicken and rice mixture.
