A few people responded earlier, so if you havent seen that question you wouldn't understand it. Basically to those that misunderstood I know all pits are not dangerous OTHER people fail to realize this. I have called the animal rights humane society a few hours ago and they pretty much told me that I have to sign over my rights, then they will run some tolerance tests and if my dog passes she can be put up for adoption and if not that they will put her to sleep. She is around six children everyday mine and my friend and she has NEVER biten anyone. BUT for some stupid reason whenever someone asks what kind of dog she is and I say shepherd mixed with pit they freak out like oh no I dont like pits theyre violent and attack people...she is only two yrs old and has been a house pet since birth only time she goes out is to use it or when we're traveling. So I'm simply trying to find her a good home where she won't be mistreated. Which is easier said than done. Some people are cruel.

I believe I missed your original posting but here's a suggestion. Board him for a few weeks, tell the gestapo that he's in a new home, rename him on all records and call him a boxer mix (how do you know he isn't?), bring him back, and claim he's a different dog (if asked). Traditionally, Americans ignore stupid laws. Laws of this sort almost always fail in court because of the difficulty of knowing what is in a mix breed anyway. You also might want to contact the American Dog Owners Association. They have been sucessful in getting laws of this sort overturned and may have some great suggestions. Some states disallow this sort of law but cities try to see what they can get away with.

Good luck for the sake of your family and your wonderful dog.

Maybe you should look into a pit rescue. They certainly wouldn't turn her down and they'd probably realize right off the bat that she's not aggressive, since they're around all kinds of pits all the time. Good luck!

What did the vet say? It is important to follow the vet's instructions since he knew what kind of treatments are applicable. Dogs do recover on their own, but it depends on the case. With your dog, he is seriously injured and suffering from 3 fractures, I don't think he can easily recover that on his own. He needs help NOW.

This is what they wilkl train for.
They will give her a bowl of yummy food then take it away while shes eating and see if she bites.
They will touch her paws, ears etc to see her reaction.
They will put her with other dogs and see what happens.
Like i said call a HUMANE society, they may take her...
Put her on petfinder.com up for adoption.
Otherwise, i don't know what to say!
