No it is not selfish of you, I am the same way. Kids are not for everyone, some of us are completely happy and satisfied having fur kids. I adore, absoletely love my fur kid, a two year old yellow Lab. I treat him just like everyone treats their human kids. When I go places people always ask me how my son is. Because no matter where I go he is with me and if he can not go I have lots and lots of pictures. I have albums from day one until now and he is all I talk about. I do not think I am cut out to be a mom to a human baby but to my Lab I am. All my time is devoted to him and my boyfriend. My boyfriend is okay with it because he has kids from another marriage and he even tells me I went the right way. My son will never talk back to me, never tell me he hates me and the police will never bring him home at 2 in the moring saying he broke some crime. Plus my son adores me no matter what, even if he gets disciplined. I am happy with just being his mom and have unconditional love from him. I spoil him like crazy, I make his food and clean up after him, I buy him more things than any parent buys their kids. Plus I do not have to put him through college or buy him a car.

I have three wonderful pugs and two wonderful children and there is always room for more. What I have learned in this lifetime is there is never enough time and there is never too much love, especially when it comes to pugs or children. (and there is always room for one more to love, even when we think there isn't) Kids and pugs go together like peanutbutter and jelly, and if someday you do decide to have children, they will most likely love pugs as much as you do. You are an all or nothing type person, you jump in to whatever you are doing with both feet, and if you ever do decide to have kids you will be just as crazy about them as you are about your pugs.

First of all your pug puppies are dogs! they should be treated as such. maybe children aren't your cup of tea, better to know now than later. I have no children but do have 2 dogs I love very much, but if i could have kids i would put them 1st.and still love my dogs.
answer to your question no you are not selfish for being honest with yourself!!!

No, it's not selfish of you, because your dogs can be like children. I know my puppy is my baby and I love him as much as I would love any child. Maybe when the puppies are older you might reconsider, but you're the only one that can make that choice. One thing is for sure: Don't let anyone pressure you into having kids. Good luck!

No, its not selfish of you. That way, you can watch a dirty movie with your dogs. It's a great way to enhance sexual communication. When you see it you can talk about it. You can let each other know your preferences or boundaries with ease as they come up in the film. It can help to spice up your sexual repertoire. Seeing other people being creative in bed can give any slow sex life some new ideas. It can help get both of you aroused. When you need that extra push the right adult film can do the trick in a few minutes, whereas foreplay alone may take to long. It can help take away the feeling that you (or your partner) is a freak. Seeing other people do things can normalize sex for you and your partner. If your dog sees a fellow dog enjoying analingus, for example, they may not feel badly about wanting to explore it. It's a world of oppertunity!

:-) of course you're not being selfish.
I don't think I'll ever have kids (too young to say for sure really I guess) but I know a few other people who are too busy with animals to want kids! A nurse friend at work has never wanted kids, she's married and everything. She's got far more time for animals than people, like me - and you.
Having children is basically a selfish thing to do I suppose - everyone does it because they want to really, not because they REALLY want to contribute to society! As if we need any more people to do that! (I'm not putting down the idea of having kids before anyone starts *yawn*)
Anyway, I'm surprised you haven't met more people with your outlook, there are plenty out there!

I deal with a lot of professional dog trainers, people actively involved in dog sports or active in showing dogs. It is surprising how FEW of them have human children.
There's nothing wrong with it. I think it's wise to admit it before you have human kids, because once you have kids you're in it for the long haul.
That said, when you have a human kid, things happen to you and you realize that the human is pretty darned amazing and loveable, but if you are already feeling that you'd be just fine without human kids, by all means, go with it! The world is populated enough ;-) and it's perfectly fine to choose not to have kids.
I have human kids and I'm glad, but I don't think parenthood is for everyone. If you're not feeling the urge, don't do it!

There's nothing wrong with not wanting children, that's your personal choice. Better to know you don't want them then to bring another unwanted child into this world. Dogs are some peoples children. Nothing wrong with that.

If you have to choose between puppies and kids, you should stick with the puppies. If it was meant that you should have kids, you wouldn't even be asking yourself this question. It is very responsible of you to think this far into it. I respect you. The world needs more like you.

Some people just don't want children, so what's wrong with that? Nothing--it's your own personal choice!
And if you would rather have cute little puglets rather than stinky poopy kids that grow up to be nasty teenagers who complain constantly, then more power to ya!
Yay for dogs! Boo for babies! ;-)
