Our 3 year old shephard/lab mix has had 4 seizures in 4 months. We were told by the vet to keep a seizure log. I have noticed that they are always brought on when he is startled awake by a noise. He had his 4th last night and it breaks my heart. He is the best dog in the world. The vet says that unless he begins having them more often, he won't need meds. I just wish I knew why this started happening.

I have an 8 month old collie cross female, and she is toilet trained (pretty much) she will go in the garden. However, as soon as both myself & my partner are out she decides that the sofa is the best place to go to the toilet. We provide her with newspaper and it seems she is aware that it's to be used for doing the toilet so I don't understand why she has now chose the sofa & I can't think of a way of getting her to stop. Any advice on this is greatly appreciated! Thanks to everyone in advance for reading this!

My 6 month old golden retreiver loves going to the dog park. He is social with both dogs and people; however this last weekend when I took him several other dogs got agressive with him. I know it scared him and one dog owner told me it's because I need to get him fixed. Is that true and if so, are there any resonable places to get it done besides my expensive vet? (CA - Ventura County).

well... we had to put her down yesterday after having her for only 8 days... she lost her battle with parvo even with immediate medical attention and 4 days of 24/7 treatment... what do we do now? It hurts and I feel cheated. We got her a week ago Sunday and by Thursday night I was back at the vet with a brand new sick puppy. I know we can't replace her... and that parvo take 6 months+ to die in the apartment... so now what? I just got married two weeks ago... got a new puppy to be my little baby while my husband travels... and had to put her to sleep 8 days later... I am so torn up in side and I don't know what to do. The breeder says "Sorry, we will give you a new puppy" But that does not fix this... if she came to us with parvo then the others most likely have it as well and if they don't they will after coming to our apartment... sick- terrible- virus it not only killed my baby puppy but took away my ability to get a new one any time in the near future... so how do I heal?

My 6 month old golden retriever has always had gunk in his eyes in the mornings. However, lately he has had a lot of yellow eye discharge in his left eye, more than normal. I keep wiping it out each morning, but it keeps coming back. Now, I'm assuming it's an allergy or infection. I know green is the worst; however with all the expensive vaccines he's recently had, etc. I was hoping that it might go away soon on it's own. Do I have to get antibiotics or can I safely wait a week or 2?

The latest problems discovered were liver and kidney problems.I think my dog had other problems due to foods that got recalled.I did take all my canned food back to the store and exchanged it for new cans.I have switched from the Nutro to Eukanuba Sensitive Skin and my dog has almost cleared up completely.I had tried several different formulas of the dry Nutro Natural Choice with her only getting a tablespoon of wet mixed in the food very rarely. My dog was still having the skin problems associated with a itchy red spotty and blistery rash on her belly that kept relapsing despite all shampoos, special foods, and medications she was on.The vet ruled out causes being fleas, mange and seasonal allergies.I spent over $300 dollars at the vet on her,and am very thankful she is now healing thanks to my own research on pet foods.I wanted to know if there was a way to get money back\sue somebody over all of this?I heard of the rat poison in it too, which is why I am alarmed. What do you think?

Does anyone know how often this breed should have a bath? My mother makes me bathe our 3 beautiful females once a week? is that too much or not enough? They are very clean and never have fleas.

She's three months old and still has her milk teeth. Rope tugs, rawhides, tennis balls- she loves them all. She also likes squeaky toys, but manages to destroy any fabric ones in a matter of hours. What do you suggest for some fun toys?

My step-dad's friend gave my fiance and I a 1 year old Great Dane 2 weeks ago. Before the guy brought the dog over, he told us he was house trained, up to date on all his shots and never bothered anything in the house. I really didn't want the dog, I was giving it to my grandma but the moment my fiance saw it he just fell in love with the dog. Well I let him keep it and now, 2 weeks later the dog is well house trained but they lied about everything else, the dog has no shot record and chews on anything and everything in the house, rugs, sofa cushions, shoes, paper, he even got a hold of my fiance's cigarettes and ate them. I am beginning to hate this dog but my fiance says he's not getting rid of him. I can't put him in the backyard b/c we have a pool and if he jumps in he cannot climb back out on the ladder and will drown. I am also 29 weeks pregnant and do not want this dog that I've known for 2 weeks in the house when my baby comes. Do I make him choose? do i give the dog away?

I am going to be moving into an apartment that allows dogs up to 70 lbs. Other than getting a mixed breed that is full grown (so I know how big it will be), what other breeds are good. Please note that I am a runner and will be running with my dog every day. I would not like a small dog--I picked these apartments because they allow larger dogs. Please Help.

Do you people have no control of your dogs? Do you people not care about your animals and just let them roam free? Do you not pay attention to them and just LET them go to the next door and "do" the other persons dog? Do you own a male and female dog and panic if they are going to mate, the why don't you just get 2 of the same? Do you own several a dogs and they get aggressive so you made them get fixed to think that it will make them nicer, why didn't you just get one dog then? I just don't get it! I don't own a cat, but I do own a non-neutered 7year old 125Ib Shiloh Shepherd dog. He's very strong and very fast and could just easily jump the fence or even jump threw the window if he wanted. But he's never been bad and left the yard without the permission of his owners which inludes me. Why, because I never gave him the ghost of a chance for him to even come close to escape. The way I see it if you can't control your animal, then you shouldn't have ever got it in the first place.

I'm talking about the cheap kind like Pedigree and Alpo. I hear a lot of crap on the internet but has anyone actually seen what they put into pet food for themselves?

We're planning to take a long car trip with our dog soon, and I'd like to be able to locate vet clinics and boarding kennels in towns along the way if we need them. Does anyone have a link or suggestions for finding vet clinics and kennels along the route?

k, so my dog has this pink bump on his chest and it's been there for two weeks now, I can't go to the vet at this moment because I'm short on money. I'm afraid it might be cancer...?

here's some pictures sorry if it's not clear:

it's pink and there's only one, and no discharge has come out of it or anything. The symptoms look similar to a Basal cell tumor. Has anyone seen anything like this?

Thanks for your help.
