she's been grumpy and sleeping alot. she never bits me and she bite me yesterday when i saw her afterwork. she doesnt want to lay on my lap as much as she used to and prefferes the back seat of my car all of the sudden, all she does is sleep now when she's inside the house. its her first time in heat and i didnt leave her alone with any male dog while she was in heat so i doubt she's pregnant. she's a 1 yr old maltepoo, is her acting this way normal?

Yes, it could be her *season* is making her act this way... But it is still worth a call to your vet... just in case... lots of poisen foods out there right now...

Likely it's hormones etc. That's why it's best to have them spayed/neutered before they come into season the first time.. Avoids this problem!

YOUR DOG IS STILL IN HEAT IT IS 7 DAYS PRIOR AND 7 IN HEAT AND 7 DAYS OUT SO EVEN IF SHE IS NOT BLEEDING SHE MAY STILL BE HAVING THE EFFECTS OF BEING IN HEAT.JUST GIVE HER SOME TIME AND IF SHE DOES NOT COME AROUND TAKE HER TO THE VET.SHE MAY HAVE A MEDICAL PROBLEM.

It is completely normal. One of my females is in heat right now and she is acting the same way, it is fairly common.

I think so, particularly if it's her first time. Her hormones have been changing, and she's moody.
Do you have a teenage daughter? You might find some similarities there. :)
