I have a 1 year-old Maltese.

I just got him and he isn't housebroken. We bring him outside for 20 mins, three times a day but he won't go... he always waits until we get inside. Because of this we got the housebreaking pads, and I sit with him near the pad after he eats or drinks, but he still wont go!! He waits until I have gotten up then he goes all over the floor and carpet.

I love him very much but this technique is obviously not working... can someone please help me?

I got my first hybrid wolf when I was 16 and started breeding them when I was 18, in the whole 14 yrs I have raised and breeded they wonderful creatures and not once have I had a complaint or anything, I came home from the store yesterday, the neightbor was yell that my dog had bit him. My other neighbor said that he was no where near my dogs what should I do? He showed me papers where he went to the hospital for stitches, but how do I know for sure it was my dog? He has 2 pit bulls how do I know that it wasn't one of his dogs that bite him or can a vet tell by the size of the bite? I am just so worried I will lose my dogs. My animals are in kennels

I have a 9 year old lab named Casey.....the cat, who is about a year, follows the dog around, snuggles with it....climbs all over her like she's a jungle gym. It is crazy. Now the cat has some serious issues :-) he literally pooped on my new couches and I swore I would get rid of him...but I haven't. Mainly, because the dog and the cat are so close. Casey seems to like the cat although sometimes gets annoyed at being bothered by him. My friend swears the dog hates the cat but is just too good of a pup to do anything.......yes, I realize this is all about a dog and I cat and I sound like a nut job :-)

Ok, I was walking my pitbull, on a leash, about an hour ago to the mailbox in my apartment complex. All of the sudden, another pitbull who was on a leash that was not being held by the owner rushed up to my dog and attacked it. My dog was good and stayed by my side like she was trained, but when the dog was attacking her, she did fight back. I was trying to get control of my dog and in the process my hands are cut up from rope burn on the leash. I was so mad, that I just gathered my stuff up (obviously the mail was dropped all over the ground)...and got my dog away from that crazy dog. Now, I'm starting to wonder if I should call my apt. manager to let her know what happened, just in case that woman...who didn't even say sorry, btw tries to do something crazy. I took pictures of the deep rope burns on my hands, not to sue or anything just to prove that I had the leash, while she didn't. So should I call, or should I not be worried? My dog is fine, btw, don't know about hers.

My boyfriend is an idiot and gave a pup already. They are only 4 week old. They do eat and drink by themselves but I still think it is too soon. I thought 8 weeks was the time to give them away.

My 2 dogs (a pug and a pug/french bulldog mix) currently eat Canidae for all life stages. I'm considering switching them to Innova EVO. All of a sudden I am hearing negative effects of high protein diets (more than 20 - 25%.. innova EVO is 42%). Such as increased aggression, kidney problems, etc. Have any of you heard this? Or have any experience with it?

I have a 3 yr old Akita that is a pure bred. We have been trying to find him a mate so we can breed him. Although we are having no luck and don't want to get a female dog just for that purpose. He has become very anxious and agressive and the vet told us we might want to think about getting him fixed. We also have a 2 yr old son and he plays with him every day nicely but what it he changes up on him too. Should I just get him fixed?

i have a dog living at my home who is very aggressive. he is not mine so i cannot get rid of him. when any unknown female comes into the house he attempts to attack them. he is a big dog too, and there has been a couple times where i have interveened to protect the woman and he goes after me instead - (i have two 'holes' in my foot and one in my arm from him). The owner says he is being "protective" of me.

We have four cats as well, and a 12 year old dog besides the mean one. and the Mean dog, is nice to the other animals except one - we have a female cat who is very timid and shy and i think he knows and he tries to attack her, he has bitten her before, and i think he is liable to cause some real damage to her, but his owner says he is just "playing".

i want him out - i love the guy but he is dangerous. how can someone say this dog is protecting me - when he bites me and being playful when he ATTACKS an animal 5 times smaller than him?

I want a large dog (I know there are larger breeds, but I want one of these 2). I know both will get big.

I want a loyal dog, and a friendly dog. I want a dog that is good with people and children.
I want a dog that likes to play and fetch and can learn alot of tricks.

Black lab or Golden Retriever? THANKS!

It's that time of the year again.Tell me what would you do if there were these bad kids going past your back yard and aggervating the dogs just to see how vicious they will act.? Telling the parents didn't help. When it first started I had a chain link fence and I was in fear one of the dogs would eventually go over the fence after the children. Well, we took that fence down and put up a 6 foot privacey fence. My dogs can't jump over it so the little brats are safe, but they still make noises, hit the fence, throw things over the fence just to tease the dogs and get them rawled up. All in all this is not fair to my dogs. They are no vicious, just being aggervated to the point that they sound like they are. I have three of them so you can imagine the sounds they put out there. The dogs are not kept outside, but they do enjoy being out in their yard most of the day during nice weather. Any suggestions will be appreciated by me and my babies!! Thanks!!

I just started using a Petsafe collar on my dog a little while ago. I'm not sure what to do because as soon as I walk out the door he starts yelping and crying and barking (the reason why we got the collar). I'm not sure if it's just him being that way or if it is hurting him. It's on the lowest level and he is known for being VERY dramatic. Thanks in advance!

Are you willing to pay 185dollars to Petamedic, (a type of service just like ambulance to help your pet to get to the animal hospitals) for your cats, dogs and other animals you have,or would you just drive them your self to the animal hospitals?

I got him from the local humane society on Sunday, and they had informed me that he had been brought in the day before. So i know for a young dog that could be traumatic. So I was wondering if anyone could give any advice on what to do with a depressed dog if that's what it is. He is going to the vet tomorrow, but i wanted to hear other ideas also.
