You want your dog to not be a dog?

That is disgusting to us and normal dog behavior. Ask your vet and they will tell you the same thing.

I always heard that dogs sniffing each others butts is there way of getting to know each other. Sounds crazy but that's what I heard. I have 2 inside dogs that do the same thing. My outside dog does it, and we have like 10 dogs in the neighborhood that all do it, so maybe there is truth behing what I hear. Don't worry your dog is not wierd. I don't think it is a behavior but their way of communicating.

You can't stop it. It would be like trying to get a politician to not shake hands. It's a very normal and acceptable way for them to greet each other and find out what the other dogs have been up to. I know it seems gross to you, but you just have to accept it as part of having a dog.

Well in my opinion, you can't really stop a dog from sniffing other dogs butts, because that's how they say hi to each other, just like us humans give hand shakes or say wave to each other, dogs sniff other dogs butts to get acquitted with them.

Just because you find it discusting doesn't mean it needs to be stopped - it's how they say hi and get to know each other. Maybe you should just deal and look the other way.

I mean what if someone thought you shaking someone's hand, giving a hug, or having conversations were discusting and forced you to stop what comes natural to you?

It's normal for dogs.....if it gets out of hand, redirect your dog to a favorite toy or practise some basic commands like sit etc.

Oh give the dog a brake. Its just a dog and its doing what dogs do. He is just saying hello to the other animals. That's how they communicate. Quit being a pansy...

All dogs do this.
This is how dogs recognize each other.
So you cannot stop it.

And why would you want to stop it anyways?
Its normal animal behavior and its not dangerous.

Let your dog be a dog.

It's a dogs way of checking to determine if the other dog has eaten and possibly what.
You won't prevent it.
