Yes if the dog is a girl go for it and name her Duchess. and if its a boy name him Shamrock they are both great names for a dog. :)

Depends on the type of dog. Shamrock maybe for like a mini terrir or shizus. duchess is a cats name however.

They are both nice. Duchess seems like it would be easier to say/yell at a dog though.

two syllables (spelling?) with a differentiating tonal change from higher to lower is best

both are cool, but duchess would work better for the animal's recognition to its own name
