Simple - you need a brush and a wet wash cloth.

Brush as much mud off as possible. Then wipe him down, rinse out the wash cloth, repeat.

I have 4 labs. They are muddy all the time. I only bathe them 4 times a year or if they roll in something stinky. Their coat repells most dirt.

The brush and wash cloth will take care of it. Mom will never know.

Spray him with the garden hose (gently, most labs like the water so he should be fine), & just use shampoo if it's neccessarry. Dry him off good with a towel, or if he'll sit still long enough you can use a hair dryer, just make sure it's not too hot and hold it far back from the dog (you don't want to burn him). If the hose is not an option, put him in the tub. Good luck!

Toss him in the tub, get a big bucket for water and about ten towels. If you have dog shampoo than use that if not just use water, people soap is not good for dog skin. I'm sure you can figure it out from here. If you don't have a tub handy than just get a couple towels wet and wipe him off really well. A good brushing once he dries should get him all cleaned up. Also; relax if the owner has a lab it won't be the first time she has seen him a little grungy.

Give him a bath outside with a hose and some human shampoo. That should do the trick. and put him on a leash so he doesn't get dirty again. Or keep playing with him but AWAY from the mud!

Or a better Idea even, would be to wash him outside and towel dry him and then bring him into the house and carefully blow dry him!

That would prolly be the better idea sinse it isn't your home. You dont want to get it all dirty.

Good Luck and HURRY!

Same as what everyone else says, put him in the tub and clean him up. Oh and you may want to wear a bathing suit! LOL Our Black lab loves baths and will just stand in the tub until we are done. Good Luck and maybe next time you can play frisbee somewhere less muddy?

If its warm out I reccomend that you just take him outside, attach him to a fence or something if you think he will run, and spray and shampoo him with the hose. Rinse him well and bring him back inside on the leash so he doesn't go back in the mud or roll in the dirt as dogs do sometimes.

Take him into your bathroom, SHUT THE DOOR (you cannot catch a wet dog), put on a rain jacket and hope for the best. If the dog is use to baths he will not protest much, but if he is like my lab (who loves to play in water) you are going to get wet. I would then towel him off, put him on a leash and blow dry him on a cool or warm setting. My dog loves my blow dryer.

Tell him if he doesn't get clean you will make him sit through a Dan Aykroyd movie. Trust me, he will run to the tub, turn the water on, hand you the shampoo with his teeth, jump in and beg for you to give him a bath.

Call the local groomer & ask for a rush!!
or
Get the large doggy in the tub & scrub, Scrub, SCRUB that mud away ... then you have to clean the tub, do a blow dry & hope your hour is a LONG one ...

Really, call a groomer in this instance! It's going to save you a HUGE headache!!

Good Luck!! : )

Get two large towels, run one under very warm water and foot by foot water towel first, then dry until no more mud. Unless you can contact your nearest groomer and GET THAT DOG IN.
