He is 6 months old and was diagnosed with a liver shunt a few months ago. Yesterday he was vomiting what looked like spit. Today he just keeps whining and wants to keep drinking alot. He is also wanting to go outside alot - he normally sleeps in our bedroom at night but he is really whining and barking if I take him in the bedroom. Its 12:30 am where I am and I have no access to a vet right now I dont know what to do for him - is he going to die? He is whining so much. Please help.

I am getting a Bassett hound puppy and was wondering what they are like. What kind of temperment do they have, do they shed, smell bad...........all that sort of stuff? I have a 3 yr old boxer and a 9 month old wolf/malamute mix, will the Basset get along with them?

Everytime my chihuahua get's excited he snarts making honking noises. Almost like he's struggling to breathe. Then after about 30 seconds he stops.
I thought it was a normal thing but I just now read that it's a symtom of Tracheal Collapse and that it could trigger something serious.
Is it actually a normal thing or is it signs of Tracheal Collapse?

To be more specific, she had a bite off of a fudge bar.

My mom was eating it this morning on the couch, and she didn't know that chocolate was poisonous to dogs and so she gave my dog some. Just a little; perhaps a teaspoon full. My dog is a Maltese, about five pounds. She has whined a little today but it may be because she hurt her lips today. She's lying on the chair next to mine, asleep. She's slept a lot this evening and I'm kind of worried...

Help! No vet near me, and even if I were to find one my mom refuses to go to the vet if my dog doesn't LOOK like she's dying.

I really want a little baby boy rott puppy but no shelters will adopt one to people who live in apartments and don't have fenced yards. I have a fairly large apartment and someone is always home to be with the puppy and my other dog, plus there's a dog park close by. I am so frustrated by these shelters who turn down loving families where these dogs would be adored and well-cared for. I have looked at Petfinder and other breeders on the web, but I'm hoping that if I put my request out there, I might find someone who has puppies and they want to find a good home for one.

I know they do not understand the concept when they are so young. so if i let her use the puppy pads for alittle while until she is old enough to understand that she goes outside will that hurt me later? i was planning on crate training her. i work during the day but can come home and let her out every couple of hours. should i just leave her in the crate and let her out every couple of hours or leave her in the bathroom with puppy pads? i don't want her to be confused.

my dog ACCIDENTLY had a peice of chocolate so i posted on here to ask questions & this lady replied saying that she is gonna call the SPCA telling them i am trying to poison my dog!!!!! I think it is obscene to charge that for a mixed breed. I could not believe my eyes when I saw this at most of the goldendoodle sites. How can they charge, so much when on the sites they cant guarentee how each dog will look when born, not too mention the problems listed with bones/joints! On one site the lady said you can not meet the puppy in person until it is paid for then, claimed it was becuase of those yorkies being stolen!

I have a brittany that is about 2 yrs. old. I got her around Christmas from a pound that was going to put her down, because of the amount of dogs they had. I noticed about a week ago she had a bald spot on her neck, so I took her collar off. Today I seen a aold spot on her tummy and her legs. This just worries me a little bit, so I was wondering if anyone had a idea what this could be? Thanks

I was wondering if getting a good 9 hours of sleep and then waking up at about 6- 6:30 (sunrise) and playing and exercising with my dog would be a good jump start for my energy and metabolic rate??

also I really dont have a place to jog except for my little tiny yard so I cant do that at all!!!! what would be a good exercise outdoors with my dog??
