The dog will be fine unless you gave her heaps of pure chocolate a little buit wont matter, My maltese ate some about a tespoon of chocolate before because it took it of the table and he was fine, when people feed heaps to the dogs they die. when I mean heaps I mean more than a teaspoon.

Its okay dont panic... my dog had about 8 teaspoons full of chocolate (although he is probly 8x a Maltese). For the time being, let it go to the washrooms regualrily and you should not let it sleep (for you dont know if it shall wake up haha).
Itll be alright, just follow my tips. If she starts whining and gaining heavy breaths it means the chocolate is getting to her and you have about 20 mins to get her too a vet before she goes into shock and dies a terrible death.
Good Luck With Your Maltesars

There is no specific antidote for this poisoning. And the half life of the toxin is 17.5 hours in dogs. Induce vomiting in the first 1-2 hours if the quantity is unknown. Administering activated charcoal may inhibit absorption of the toxin. An anticonvulsant might be indicated if neurological signs are present and needs to be controlled. Oxygen therapy, intravenous medications, and fluids might be needed to protect the heart.
Milk chocolate will often cause diarrhea 12-24 hours after ingestion. This should be treated symptomatically (fluids, etc..) to prevent dehydration.
If you suspect your pet has ingested chocolate contact your Vet immediately! They can help you determine the the proper treatment for your pet.
You dont have to go to the vet, just contact one!!

you shouldnt worry, if it was a large amount of chocolate like a king size then yes, but since you say it was just about a teaspoon
it should cause no harm to your dog. The most that she would probably have is just a stomache ache so no need to worry, but if it gets worse then you should take her to a vet.

Chocolate can cause internal bleeding in dogs. ANY chocolate. However, in small amounts the damage is no more than the human equivalent of a stomache ache.
Watch for blood in her stool. If there is any blood, get her to a vet. If not, then the chocolate didn't do any major harm.

My dog ate a HUGE bag of chocolate that my grandma left out on the couch one night.
It didn't make him sick, he slept a little but I think that was just because he had a full belly.
I don't see how it hurts dogs. Maybe only small dogs. My dog was a yorkshire terrier so a small dog but not step on small.

Don't worry! My dog has been eating all kinds of food including chocolates! Just a little is fine. She is just tired. Let her rest and make sure she drinks lots of water.

but i am sure that all dogs react differently, so keep an eye on your dog..if they arent showing any symptoms of feeling sick...then dont worry.
