Garlic is toxic to dogs in large amounts, small amounts wont hurt him and it does help fight fleas as well as other health benefits..
You should mash the toe up and mix it in his food.
I mix fresh minced garlic in with my dogs' food daily and have never had a problem with it poisoning any one of them.

Garlic can cause reactions in some dogs and the dosage would vary from breed and size of dog to another. You can give a garlic supplement that comes in a pill or oil capsule form. Check your dog food ingredients, many of the better foods already have garlic in them and adding more can be toxic. Garlic is a good flea prevention and garlic also has other good properties like keeping arteries clear, but you would be better to go on line to a wholistic dog sight and find out a dosage that would be suitable for your dog.

No please, it causes anemia in dogs wether it is cooked or raw... as well as onions. Raisins are also poisonous. I lost count of how many anemic dogs I have seen due to owners that give them garlic as a flea or heartworm preventives.

And every dog is different, there is no such thing as a proper "dosage" for garlic, as I have seen a dobie becoming pale and couldn't even stand because he ate a piece of meat seasoned with garlic, and I have seen labs that eat a lot of garlic before they started showing exercise intolerance and tired enough for the owners to warrant a visit to the vet.... and why risk it?

i might feed her 0.5 of her foodstuff and then wait and then the different 0.5 half-hour aside. Does she gobble her foodstuff or consume too speedy? that's somewhat useful to melt her foodstuff slightly and make certain your foodstuff would not have citric acid as preservative in it because of the fact this might reason bloat in super canines (certainly uncertain approximately small). additionally pass by making use of how she is performing. If her bowel and urine is primary you're on the best song. If she is happy and enjoying that's clearly a good sign too! the certainty that her abdomen is larger and tougher than primary may be that she is ingesting too lots at as quickly as and splitting her nutrients, feeding her much less quantities yet extra many times ought to help verify the venture at the same time as she is becoming. additionally a good high quality properly balanced doggy foodstuff designed for small canines is rather significant...maximum vets do no longer sell this. i might advise stable Gold Wee Bit...it has the best volume of protein for a smaller breed doggy. good success mutually with your new doggy!

NO.

Both garlic and onions include theiosulphate, which is poisonous to dogs and cause haemolytic anaemia.

To the people who said garlic is healthy for dogs - please read up on this. Garlic is poisonous to dogs, whether it's cooked or raw. It's not as poisonous as onions which have a lot more theiosulphate in them, but it's still poisonous.

Not really. Garlic is related to onions and they are toxic to dogs.
They cause something called Heinz Body Anemia.
It interfears with the dogs red blood cells and their ability to carry oxygen to the dogs tissues.
Onion toxosis can be fatal and I never give my dogs garlic as the two types of plants are related.

Raw garlic is great for dogs. It is good for their skin and coat. They digest it differently than we do, so it doesn't give them the bad breath like it does us. :)
