i have a 5 month maltipoo. he stays home by himself from 7:15-11:30 and then from 12-3. he stays in a small hallway. there are two doorways that are blocked off by baby gates. Today, however, he jumped over the gates and got out. Luckily i was home though. are there any producs you know of that would be tall enough he wont jump over, and preferebly has no holes that he could get his foot caught in?

I recently lost my horse to bad colic and my son is begging for a dog.He has a pup picked out in a friends litter.I would like to see him get this dog because she would be a good size and the parents are both good natured. My hubby says no.He says it would too much responsibility.I can understand him wanting to catch up mony wise but not response wise.I would like a dog and feel every boy needs a dog.my son is an only child who would benefit greatly from the company.I would be glad to assist him in caring for her. What do others think?A dog would also help me get over the pain of loosing my horse. Thank you all for your time.

I saw someone actually beat their dog to death today and in front of numorous people and children. The dog had only peed on the floor and the person went crazy and started hitting the dog when the dog tried to defend itself and bite the person picked it up and then smashed its head into the floor a number of times before anyone could get them to stop. Five minutes later the dog died. I was told I was to forget it and let it go that it was the past and nobody needed to know but I am sick and tore up about what this person did. Now everyone is babying the person who beat the dog and protecting them. I was told that if I say anything about it problems would be started in the family and to just let it go. But I can't and I am mad! This was an adult not a child!

I got the puppy yesterday he is 8 weeks old, and seems to be doing fine.

Except everytime he has a bowel movement it comes shooting out all runny! And I do mean shooting out!!!!! Do you think it is just the change in food or possibly nerves from being in a new enviroment? Or something more seriously health related....?

Thanks in advance for your input.

Im not sure if our dog is bleeding because she's in heat or if our male shiba inu hurt her. This would be her first time with a male dog.

She's not gushing blood, but she's leaving very small drops of blood on the floor. About 3 drops today. (like I said, not gushing)

We're taking her to the vet tomorrow but I thought I'd ask here for more information.

I own a shih tzu that is 15 years old, soon to be 16. I've noticed within the past two weeks she hasn't been herself. She refuses to eat her food, the only time she will eat is when its "human" food which she wants all the time. She will lay near me and weep for no reason. I try to see if she wants a cookie, dry food, water, to be let out but nothing. She seems very depressed and sad (which really upsets me) and recently she will be let out to the bathroom and then come inside and use the rest room in the family room. (which she knows is a bad thing espically when my parents are home). She was brought for me when I was 7 and I am really attached to her. With her recent behavor and depression makes me think she is dying. I personally dont want to think that way but I then again am not sure how to tell when a dog is dying since she is my first dog. Any information or suggestions would be really appreciated!!

My 12 year old Lhasa apso is rapidly losing her vision, and my vet recommended lubricating eye drops to make her eyes more comfortable. The problem is that anytime I try to give her the drops, she thrashes around and tries to bite me. I'm a single person, so having someone else hold her down isn't always an option, and doesn't always work anyway. I've tried the vet's suggestions of putting her up on a table, wrapping her in a towel, kneeling over her back, or holding her up on my lap, but none of those help. Does anyone else have any other methods for getting drops into a dog's eyes?
