Puppies need excercise. So, excercise is good. Don't give him too much though! If he is sick and doesn't feel like getting out, don't take him. Don't force him.

Kennel Cough in dogs will stimulate a coarse, dry, hacking cough about three to seven days after the dog is initially infected. It sounds as if the dog needs to "clear it's throat" and the cough will be triggered by any extra activity or exercise. I would say limit your dog's exercise until treatment is complete.

This may not be the best time to have him out running, wait for him to get better. Kennel cough is very similar to us having a cold and I know I don't want to be out running when I have a cold. Puppies are very susceptible to germs from other dogs until they get their second booster so you might want to keep him away from areas where dogs congregate or travel until then.

I have to say no not only for your puppy's sake but for the sake of other dogs as kennel cough is contagious so you should keep him confined away from other animals until he or she gets over it.

Ahhhh...no! If you really need to ask, call your vet! Kennel cough is an upper respiratory infection! Playing with your pup is fine, but running! I don't know! Make a simple call to your vet's office and ask.

Check with your vet and see if this is alright. I am sure that limited exercise would be fine. But again I would check just to be sure. Hope the puppy returns to good health soon.

he should not run until the infection is passed. Strenuous exercise can bring about a coughing fit.
