4 in the afternoon is nothing.......after 11pm is something... i actually called the police on the hosue across the street from me about 2 weeks ago, bc the dog was barking SO LOUD, it literally kept me from sleeping....each city has a noise ordiance, and it doesnt only refer to loud music...it refers to property, and your dog falls under that...

some people are just mean, the dog probably saw something and was barking at it, next time go out and try and see what it might be barking at.I got two in my fenced in back yard they don't bark unless they see a stranger or another animal .as for getting in trouble sorry don't know , a warning maybe .If you do its stupid. Barking is their way of talking.just try and calm it down next time it barks a lot, try taking it for walks every day ,maybe that will help.some people will complain about any thing ,think they were born grouchy.

Oh polease, i have never heard of something so ridiculous. You're neighbors threatened to call the police because your dog was barking at 4 in the afternoon??? That's horrible. I would tell your neighbors where to go. Dogs should be allowed to bark whenever they want to no matter what time it is. People are allowed to talk whenever they want to and so should dogs. If there is a law for that it's a real dumb one.

Honestly, it depends on the neighborhood. I think that your dog has the right to bark, just as you have the right to yell, but it's not polite, especially if it bothers your neighbors. You may want to take your dog for a little training or be on the safe side and get yourself a citronella collar from your local pet store. It just sprays a nasty scent in their face when they bark and works like a charm.

What you need to do is contact your city hall and ask what is or is there an ordinance for dogs barking. The ordinance with in the city limits is what the local police will follow.

it depends when it is, if it was 3 in the morning you have a problem, but if it's in the day that's fine. but i suggest a bark collar for a while, if the dog barks at every thing.

As long as your dog is legal (like up to date on his rabies vaccine and registered with your town) I don't think your dog is breaking any laws by barking at 4 pm.

Tell your neighbor to suck it!

If your dog barked for non continuesly for 5 mins, thats not illegal. But your neighboor probably has nothing else to do but call the city on people. Those people suck.

You are a rude, obnoxious, inconsiderate jerkoff for not controlling your animal out-of-doors and allowing it to shatter the peace and quiet of your neighborhood. Your little pooch's bark may be music to YOUR ears, but it's NOT to mine. So train your animal to STFU.

I WILL call the cops!!!!!!

Signed respectfully,

Your Neighbor.

dog's can hear very well and sense fear from far off so they bark or attack to show their territory
