Oh so i recently bAUGHT the most cutest pitbull for 200 dollars from a back yard breeder ,wen i got him, he was a little underweight, so i thought hey, maybe becuz he wasnt the strongest of all, i noticed his appetite was not a normal one, he'd barely eat, keep in mind he's 6 weeks and weighs 3.02 kb. So on the third day poor baby threw up a hook worm, so i immedietly took him to the clinic, he got dewormed, they said he was so infested that the worms were sucking his blood, making him amneic, hypothermic, low temp(97.4) and diagnosed him with commidia, he then got a blood/ transfusion, and 2 liquid trans. now, he barely eats, so i went to the vet, and got him rebouund, and iuse a sorenge both solutions for his food/water. he also takes 2 medications to help with diarea, and vommiting, as well as a medicine for vitamins, he wont eat anything, no dog food, turkey, baby food, ground beef, nothing, so im forced to forcefeed him to keeep him alive, any help!?!? his temp is now 99.4!!

I recently found out a neighbor of mine died in his home. The mail began piling up and the postman put things together. The man was discovered dead but a little over a week had passed. I’m told his dog ate a good portion of the deceased’s calf & hamstring during this time. Is this normal? Would a dog actually begin eating a human after such a short time? I was considering adopting this dog until I heard this story. If I were to adopt the dog, would he now try to eat parts of my body while I’m sleeping?

when she drinks her water in a couple of minutes she spits it back up can anyone tell me why she does this?

He's a golden retriever he's 3 years old. When he eats food he spits it up then tries to eat it again. When he drinks he sounds like he chokes alot and drools from his mouth. It sounds like he can't get his air passage way clear. Remember I just got him. I will be taking him to my vets. The people that I received him from says he was never trained to eat right. He has a runny nose. Has anyone ever heard of these signs.

I have been to several Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier rescue sites but they have a rule against adopting out dogs to homes that have an invisible fence (which is what I have). Does anyone know how I can adopt a Soft Coated Wheaten from a rescue that does not have this restriction? I am interested in adopting a female wheaten that needs a home.

There was an animal shelter on the news today that said that they don't adopt Pitbulls like they do other dogs. Instead, if they receive a Pitbull into their custody, then they immediately euthanize it because they feel it's safer for families. I was wondering why they would do that. I know Pitbulls have bad reputations, but I also know that 9 times out of 10, their agressiveness and tendency to fight, is due to those responsible for them. In spite of what many people might say, I don't think that any dog is a "born killer" or born agressive....I feel a lot of it has to do with environment. But anyway, what do you think about this policy? What if the reason they're in the shelter is not that they were agressive, but that the owner just couldn't afford to take care of it or didn't want it anymore? Do many shelters have this same policy regarding Pitbulls?

About a year ago, my yorkie/chi was killed. This really upset me & my entire family. Lately, i have really been wanting to get another puppy. I really like scottish terriers. But, i dont have any breeders in my area. My friends dog just had puppies, shih-tzu/miniature poodle, and she said i could have one for free. ive been waiting for the right dog to come into my life, but im confused about whether or not i should continue searching for a scottie, or take on ofmy friends puppies.

What should I do?

Can anyone answer the following questions:

Are they really small?
Do they yap?
Are they not greatly intelligent?

I live with my mother at the moment and she really wants to get a dog now that she has retired. She loves these dogs in appearance. I, on the other hand, prefer bigger dogs and highly intelligent ones, such as border collies. Obviously I would love any dog we got but I'd just like to know the answers to the above. I heard that this breed is just about average in intelligence - anyone know if this is true? Also I know that smaller dogs tend to 'yap' annoyingly - is this true of the Cavalier?
thanks..

someone who wants it. What would you do?

I found a stray hunting dog wandering the roadside today. He was very malnourished and scared so I wasn't able to take him home to get him back to health. I called animal control and they picked up the dog and left me the number to the local shelter. They said he would be put up for adoption if he was healthy enough .... but I fear they might just put him down immediately? Will they at least keep him overnight? I plan to call them tomorrow about the dog. Thanks for any help on this. I'm in Florida.
