How big does a Daushchund get when full grown?

I was thinking of getting a puppy dauchshund. I want a small lap dog. I was wondering if they are good pets.

most of these type of dogs get anywhere from 8 to 18 pounds...if you are wanting a lap dog look for something that is a toy breed. you might pay more for it but you will then get what you are wanting and that is a lap dog...the smaller the better. I have yorkies and they are under 5 lbs nothing better than that....they are my lap babies. check with your local vet, sometimes they will have or know someone that is looking for a good home for their pet.

about one foot tall, yes they are very good pets!
