Has anyone had any experience of hips dysplasia in dogs and put in a claim for insurance. Did your insurance cover both hips or did they class each hip as a separate claim?

I realize there are a lot of responsible owners that love the breed.
My question is to the owners of those I see on chains.
It seems to me that many young people today want them as a statement or simply because everyone else has one.

I looked on some pet forums and no one really had an answer. We adopted him from another family and they said he's always done it and "it's a beagle thing". I never heard of it. Any idea what's going on and how we can help him out? He seems okay, but I can't imagine that it would be any fun to honk and snort and cough like that...

I gots a "sitch-e-ation" here. xP My dog attacked another dog yesterday, a puppy. My dog is a husky/chow mix, will be 1 yr old on the 16th, but looks & acts exactly like a purebred siberian. 'Cept he's a lil' smaller. He's never attacked a dog before, and I sorta don't understand. Every time he'd meet a new dog, he'd go up to them in a dominant stance (tail stiffly wagging, ears up, very sure of himself, trying to look big) But after he'd do that, he'd go into a play bow and start wanting to play. He's always done that. But this one little puppy, he can't stand. This pup's maybe a few months old, lab mix. She's REALLY hyper and out of control, and when Steele first met her a lil' while back, he would just put her on her back and make her submit. I thought that was fine, he was just disciplining her. But when they met again yesterday, he wanted to straight out attack her! He attacked her once, and did no damage. I corrected him intensely (but the WHOLE time I was as calm as could be)...

Hi
18 months ago we lost our 12 year old blue roan12 months earlier He was diagnosed as diabetic and since then we had to inject him twice a day
We had an extra year with him although at the time of diagnosis it was touch and go but, we thought that he deserved a chance- we are not the type of family that will think of the cost of vets bills over an animal
I really do want to find a new pup as the house seems so quiet without him- even tho I've got 3 kids!!
Can anyone help?

Other than watching her 24/7 and keeping her confined 2 one room when the door is open, how do I get her out of this dangerous habit? If she does get out again how do i catch her? She just runs away from me and i'm scared she'll get hit by a car if she carries on. HELP! I am responsible with my dog but she is really mischeivous.

She is an amazing dog and I really do not have problems with her. Except that she hates to be brushed. Her coat is all matted. Besides shaving, how can I get rid of the knots? How can I get her to let me brush her hair when it is all combed out?

I hate coming on here and seeing unresponsible questions. My dog has parvo, what should I do? My dog is pooping blood, what should I do? My dog cant open his left eye, what should I do?

Why do people come on here instead of going to the vet?? How can you not vaccinate your dogs?!? It costs $100 a year to vaccinate your dog, and not worry about disease!!

I just want to know how you can get an animal and be so unresponsible????

My Doberman "Rocco" is such a power chewer that he has literally chewed a Kong to pieces. Yes, the extra tough kind! We don't give him anything but raw bones now because naturally they don't come apart ever.
I was just wondering if anyone knows if this would ever be bad for him b/c of bacteria..etc.
It just seems natural to me that this is what they eat anyway. He loves them too and they are cheap!

The vet has just suggested I try Bach remedies for calming a puppy who is anxious in the car and ends up sick on VERY short journeys. Is it worth trying and which one should I use? Or has anyone any other advice. I'm just persevering with short trips.
