The general medical consensus is that it is better to feed a dog several small meals than a single large meal, as it reduces the risk of BLOATING which can be potentially fatal to dogs.

Although the prevalence and other significant causes of this risk are questioned, nearly all vets agree (and I think empirical studies have shown) that the risk of bloat is increased by larger as compared to smaller but more frequent meals.

But in the end, it depends on your dog and your schedule and time constraints.

From 5 to 6 months a puppy can be fed 3 times a day, at 6 months of age, your puppy can be fed in 2 separate meals. typically depends on what kind of dog you have. i have two bernese mountain dogs. they are 1 and 7. i feed them 2 cups in the morning and 2 cups at night. when they were puppies we fed them more often. eventually, the 7 yearold will start eating 1 a day. it is better to divide it up. that way the food stays fresher than just sitting there all day.

i say feed you dog twice a day. once in the morning and once at night. i dont think anybody should feed there dog once a day as you dog will be hungry all day till its feed. we get hungry and have 3 meals a day plus we have snacks if we are peckish and dogs are the same!!!!!
