Was it checkers? Or Johnson's dog? Truman's? I remember learning about this but don't remember the details!

We have a 9 month old boxer that has separation anxiety so bad that when we put her in her kennel. She chews on the plastic and vomits on it. Also she drools so bad that she dehydrates herself. We have tried the radio that doesn't work we have given her things to occupy herself to no avail. She is on covicalm but have had no results yet. She goes for walks daily so that she burns of some energy. She is fine when we are at home she will go in the kennel with no problem. It is when you leave the house that the war is on HELP!!!!!

when she was losing the 2nd one this morning she was crying and flipping out and almost looked like she was having a seziure. MY husband opened her mouth and was able to remove the tooth. I am just wondering if anyone else has had this happened? Also, if there is anything you can give them to take the pain away?

I have been breeding AKC champion Irish Wolfhounds for about 15 years now. I am not a "backyard" breeder. I take great care in breeding and selling my puppies. I have all my breeders health certified. A friend was taking care of my dogs while I was out of town. One of my females was in heat and I had not planned on breeding her beacause I only breed them every two years and she had a litter about a year ago. I told my friend about this and made sure she understood to keep all the male dogs away from her including our male Lab that we rescued. Well, she forgot I guess and the two mated. I conduct intense interviews for all the prospective buyers of my purebreed dogs. I am going to give these puppies away because they are mixed breed. I think I should still conduct these interviews but others say I am just wasting my time. I want these puppies to go to just as good of a home as I would any of my other ones. I just would like other opinions on this.

I have a small weiner dog and she barks at everyone (except for me) and any sound she even thinks she hears, needless to say it has become very annoying, what should i do to just reduce how much she barks at the occasional stranger or noise?

I have had a chihuahua before so I know that they shiver and tremble but if you pick your chi up and feel this quivering inside you would know the difference. I think it is a reaction to eating too fast rather than cold food as I always serve at room temp; my last chi would not touch dog food no matter how long I tried . I lostt him in Sept; aged 13 1/2. So as this greedy little might will eat anything and everything I have never experienced this before. Thanks again for the best answer.xx

My boxer burrows his head in the blankets. He'll be standing but he will be rubbing his head in blankets and couches, especially after he eats. Why does he do that?? Also, he follows me EVERYWHERE. Kitchen, bedroom, living room, even the bathroom. When I leave the house, my boyfriend says he will whine for a few minutes. What is wrong with him?

I just adopted a 1yr old Chihuahua named Tomie about a month ago. He loved his cage at first but now he hates it. He never wants to get in so now I have to physically carry him into it when I have to go out. At night though, he goes right to sleep when I put him in there. Please help

I am a somewhat new dog owner. I have 2 small dogs, a Maltese and a Shih tzu. I feed them both at the same time and they both have their own bowls. The Shih tzu is like a horse, he will eat as much as you put in front of him. The Maltese eats like a thin person, he likes to eat it on and off throughout the day. The problem is that the Shih Tzu is pretty much eating both bowl as soon as they are put down. We encourage the Maltese to come and eat...an he will taking only a few licks...but then when he wants to come back it is gone. This is especially a problem when I am not home to supervise. (Neither dog is overweight or underweight as per the vet but I want to prevent this from occurring) What do I do? Thanks!!!

I recently adopted a golden retriever that was raised in a metal swimming pool by his previous owners, until he was 4 months old. I have been told that he acts like a dog that has limited human contact, except for with his foster parents, who had him until he was 10 months. My wife and I are unsure how far to push our affection onto him, or if we should just let him adjust and let him come around to us? He is not violent, but we have not pet him yet because he tends to move away from us when we get too close. Can anyone recommend some steps to take in showing him affection, and gaining his trust? Thanks

I have a 12 year old Lhasa Apso. He has never liked to be groomed so I don't do it that often. Needless to say by the time I bring he he is really bad. Everytime I have him groomed he is sick for like two days following the grooming. He shakes and seems sick. Has anyone ever had this happen to their dog? If so what should I do?

i just rescued a puppy from an irresponsible owner who's unaltered boxer got out and got pregnant... i got him at 6 weeks (i know early but she was going to put them out in a box in front of a store.. luckily i found good homes for most, there were 9, and took the rest to a vet that runs an adoption at his practice.) any way, back to my question, lol... i got him at 6 weeks and he weighed in at 6.2 i just took him back to the vet for his 2nd set of shots at 8 weeks and he weighed in at 11.5. i know he is going to be a big boy, but how big do u think he'll get. i know he is 1/2 boxer and he looks like he could be mixed with mastiff or pittbull... his feet and head are huge, his body is on the longish side and very musular, his legs are very thick and look to be getting longer. so how big do u think he'll be in terms of pounds???

My neighbor just got a pup. She was charged 250.00 for this pup. It is Italian Greyhound, Basenji, and Poodle. The woman told her the pup had been to the vet but won't produce papers. Upon speaking to a friend of mine she told us that this was a well known Puppy mill that had been shut down once before. The owners of this puppy mill have changed "owners" to another family member to continue. They are charing outragious prices for mixed breed dogs that are sick with Kennell cough, coxsideo virus(spelling) and all other things. Who should we turn these people over to get the maximum results and justice for these animals.

I am loking into adopting a puppy... it ais a 5-6 week old chihuahua mix, right now it is a pound and a half. I'm just worried about it being a lot bigger than my cat. Is this usual size for a small chihuahua mix? I'm hoping for somewhere between 5-8 lbs.

The big dog show in Madison Square Garden starts this Monday (2/12/07.) Who besides myself would like to see a breed that has never won come in first? And what breed would you like to see win?
I'd love to see a Belgian or Tevergian shepard win.
