Mutts! They are not inbred and tend to be friendly and less high strung. Besides they are waaaaaay cheaper.

I'm an animal lover and can cozy up to just about any dog breed. I took the AKC test to see what kind of dog I should have and it said a Bouvier de Flanders. Not sure I was aiming for that but I do want a protective, playful dog - maybe a Belgian or Tervergian Shepard.
I also want some cats so whatever dog I get has to be good with other animals.

I LOVE DOBIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...
I dont have one... YET! I dont have the space or the money for one, but as soon as I do Im gonna get a male.
I love them because they are soooooooooooo affectionate!!!! The term "velcro dog" really fits them. I think it sad they have such a bad rap, Because I have NEVER seen a more LOYAL breed in my entire life!
I love the Protective instinct. It seems to be perfectly balanced. You can trust them with your kid, friends, family, even those you just met and they will be fine, but if they ever even TRY to hurt you, BAM, your dobie is on it! And they can be QUITE convincing!!! After all, they are the ONLY breed specificly bred for personal protection.
They are also very very intelligent. They can be trained to do ANYTHING. I even know a guy, that attended hunting field trials with his 2 dobermans, AND placed toward the top often. They are great Therapy Dogs, Schutzhund, hearding (believe it or not), Search and rescue and more! They are also the BEST at companionship. (But they need a job to do or they can get bored or aggressive)
I also love thier attitude. This is where the OWNER usually gets in trouble. Alot of people dont realize that if you dont take ABSOLUTE control over your dobe, then your dobe will control you. They have to know that YOU are in charge, period. I love that strong personality. BUT, I can handle it also. Every dog I have ever had KNEW I was in charge.

Boxer. They're not a big as a breed as I'd like, but they have everything in temperment and personality I was every looking for. They're such optimistic dogs, complete jokers, loving, creative, and just plain goofy . . .I just have to love 'em. They're my breed, and have been since I first saw one 12 years ago.
The following has nothing to do with my answer, but I really feel the need to clear something up. Mixed breeds are NOT, as a whole, healthier than purebreds! Very few mixed breeds come from a background that's been checked out and health tested. Take two breeds and put them together, the dog has a vunerability to both breeds' common health issues. Sorry to everyone, but this hybrid vigor isn't 'hybrid' vigor. It's plain, ole' DOG vigor. Mixed breeds aren't healthier than pure, and vice versa.

Well i love all dogs....
Right now i have a Saint Bernard (shes a doll but they st.'s are good if you have children, don't know if its true but thats what they say!)
I also have a Black Lab, They are absoulutly loving and are great with kids.
Also i have a heitnz 57 (anotherwards a mix) She looks like a mini german shepard.
So it really depends on what type of dog your looking for. Just remember when you are, keep in mind and research it.

Protective?
So on and so forth!

English Bulldog, they are so cute, and people gave them a bad name of being mean dogs, but actualy the magority of them are the sweetest things ever!!!! all love!!!! they are wrinkally and low maintencde , they are cuddly and soft, but they do have heaert and eye problems so if you get one or already have one you have to take care of it..... and people doing movies and commercials pay 200-400$ a day you are working on it....... they are soooooooooooooooooo loyal and follow you when you are walking and they actually know when you are depressed or sad, ther ewas studies!!!!!!!

Pomeranians and Scottish Terriers. Both very intelligent breeds and good watch dogs.

I love large short haired dogs. But my favorite is the American Pit Bull Terrier. But i also REALLY love American Bulldogs, English Bulldogs, Boxers, Staffordshire Terriers, and Rottweilers.

Hi! Well i have a lot of favorite breeds of dogs.. But i luv Pomerianans, Golden Retrievers, Yorkies, Saint Bernards, and many many more!! Cause they are all soo super cute! :)

I love Dalmatians. They are so loyal. I also like Great Danes because they are huge and loving. I like standard Poodles too. I am such an animal lover...LOL...I guess I'd better stop here before I take up a whole page. :D
