i just rescued a puppy from an irresponsible owner who's unaltered boxer got out and got pregnant... i got him at 6 weeks (i know early but she was going to put them out in a box in front of a store.. luckily i found good homes for most, there were 9, and took the rest to a vet that runs an adoption at his practice.) any way, back to my question, lol... i got him at 6 weeks and he weighed in at 6.2 i just took him back to the vet for his 2nd set of shots at 8 weeks and he weighed in at 11.5. i know he is going to be a big boy, but how big do u think he'll get. i know he is 1/2 boxer and he looks like he could be mixed with mastiff or pittbull... his feet and head are huge, his body is on the longish side and very musular, his legs are very thick and look to be getting longer. so how big do u think he'll be in terms of pounds???

If his mom was a boxer, and his dad could be anything, he'll probably end up in the 60-pound weight range, and possibly even get as big as 80 pounds.
Read the article in my source list to find good ways to tell approximately how big he'll grow up to be. Just remember, there's no way to be 100% accurate when it's a mutt puppy. These methods of telling will only give you a rough idea.

Without knowing the breed of both parents it's difficult to tell how big the pup will get. But we use the following formula to 'guesstimate" the adult size of the puppies here in the shelter:
Take the weight of the pup at 8 weeks amd double it, then double it again. Example: if the dog is 10 pounds at 8 weeks, we'd multiply that number by two and get 20 pounds and then double that again to get 40 pounds. It's not an exact figure; it's juts a "ballpark" one.
And thank you for being such a good caregiver to the pups!

I'd guess he'd get around 60 lbs. My dobie was 20lbs at 12 weeks of age. She's now 2.5 yrs old and weighs in at 65lbs. At 5 months she weighed 42lbs., and by 10 months she was at 58lbs. She didn't put on her final 5 lbs until these past 6 months. Hope this helps you out and gives you something to compare to.

his weight will depened on what the father was. i have a 6 month old bull mastiff and he alreday weighs 65lbs and has another 60 to 70 lbs to go. his father weighed in at 156lbs and mom was 108lbs before pups. so if he's part mastiff he'll weigh a lot, but if he is pit bull he'll probably top the chart at 65 or 75 lbs. pit bulls are leaner and shorter dogs.

Duke will probably get up to at least 60 lbs if not more. I think it is absolutely wonderful what you did, not only for Duke finding homes for all the litter mates as well. Good job and congrats on your new companion.

Congrats on the new puppy and good for you for saving a life! I think you might be looking at an 80-100 pound dog by the time he is full grown! Make sure to feed him puppy food especially for large breeds so that he gets all his nutrition! Have fun with him!

You go girl!!! Not everyone would show that kind of concern & caring for a bunch of puppies. You did a wonderful thing.
So, really, does the size matter? You're gonna love it anyway!

He'll probably be big.......But I'd ask your vet. Vets have a lot of experience watching puppies grow up. Also look at his feet and ears.
