My dog put a piece of rat poison in its mouth, but, luckily she spit it out, so I flushed its mouth with water. Will she be ok?

We have a 12wk old Yorkie-Poo who we leave in our kitchen when we are not home. We are not gone for extended periods of time, a couple hours here and there. As soon as we put him in the kitchen he barks and whines, which can be very loud. For the past couple days he seems to have lost his voice and is very hoarse.

Is he doing harm to himself by barking so much when we are gone to the point where when we come home has lost his voice?

Any suggestions on how we can help his anxiety? We assume that this is something he will overcome, we just want to be sure he is not causing long term harm to himself by barking so much and so loud. Thanks!

He does nothing but sleep... Is this normal, he got is second shots today. Also what kind of dog food should i feed him as a puppy. The breeder said to feed him adult purina. But Petsmart wanted me to buy puppy chow. Also why doesn't he want to come inside after going to the bathroom? Keep in mind this is my first day with him.

This AKC dog show is a benched show held in New York City. Watch this 2 day dog show if you want to LEARN about different breeds and breed standards and how a dog show works. For those who aren't attending the dog show is aired on TV next week Monday 2/12 and Tuesday 2/13. Only AKC Champions of the 154 recognized breeds (165 varieties) will compete for the title Best In Show. If you don't see your breed represented at this show, it is not an AKC breed. Labradoodle this and cockapoo that, imperial, teacup, puggle whatever are not entered here! You will also learn what each of the "purebred dogs" are truly bred for at this show and why mixing them up means unpredictable characteristics.

Me and my boyfriend are talking about getting a dog, but aren't sure which one we want. I like English Bulldogs and Great Danes, but he wants a Jack Russell. It would help us out if we could see the pros and cons to owning each breed. Thanks =)

I've got this really cool dog and I like to spoil her. She begs food a lot and I spoil her rotten by letting her eat people food. I give her things like pizza crusts, peanuts, pieces of apples and oranges, gummy bears, sprees, popcorn with butter, pop tarts, potato chips (various flavors), nachos with black bean sauce, and other stuff like that. I was surprised that she would eat candy and potato chips being a carnivore and at all. Is it okay for an 8 month old female puggle to eat like that assuuming that she eats lots of dogfood too?

I have a new puppy who is REALLY great with my 10 mo old son. She lets him walk on her, pull her ears etc. The problem is that she thinks he's a puppy and she thinks it's ok to be dominant. I've tried alpha rolls and putting him over her but he just won't sit still. She takes food out of his hands and steals his toys. Any suggestions?

We are moving across country soon.It is a 26 hour drive. My five year old Chocolate Lab came to me at age two from an a busy household that had no time for her.We are together 24/7 and are very close. When I take her in the car she panics if I try to exit without her.I bought her a sturdy seat belt to keep her put after she crawled over me and got out before I did several times. It pains me to see her so upset when I jump out for a moment. How do I train her to stay calm until I let her out?

a wolf dog is a dog that is part wolf and part dog. my neighbour somehow got a wolf puppy, i don't know how but he did, and he breeded it with another dog about 5 or so years ago. 3 of my aunts have the dog's decendents. 1 is very whte with blue eyes, 1 looks like a husky, and the girl dog, gizzie looks very much like a wolf. she is a bit whiter than a wolf, but she is big, skinny, and has the most beautful gold eyes, just like wolves have. its personality is great, its very playful and loves to play, but it is very sensitvie too. my aunt lost one of her dogs, and gizze was so sad she wouldn't eat, finally the missing dog was found and gizzie has never been happier. does anyone have any wolf-dog stories or have you ever seen one?

I know chocolate is poisonous to dogs but my Jack Russell loves the smell of my Chocolate Options drinks and keep trying to stick her head in the mug to get a taste!

I made her up a little dish of hot chocolate with lots of milk in it to make it cool and she loved it!

I'm just worried though because there is a bit of cocoa powder in the hot chocolate mix, will this be dangerous?
