He barks when he wants to go out. But tonight we went downstairs without warning and peed. Is this normal? Should I brush it off that hes still a puppy?

Hounds take a long time to house train. He is still a puppy so I think it is normal for him to still have accidents. I crate trained my dog, and it seemed to work out very well. I'd say if you catch him peeing inside, pick him up and take him outside to the grass so he can learn that's where he needs to go.

He is still a puppy, and a Hound puppy yet. Hounds are notorious for being difficult to house train.
Are you sure he is not marking territory? That is totally different from an accident.
