I've got this really cool dog and I like to spoil her. She begs food a lot and I spoil her rotten by letting her eat people food. I give her things like pizza crusts, peanuts, pieces of apples and oranges, gummy bears, sprees, popcorn with butter, pop tarts, potato chips (various flavors), nachos with black bean sauce, and other stuff like that. I was surprised that she would eat candy and potato chips being a carnivore and at all. Is it okay for an 8 month old female puggle to eat like that assuuming that she eats lots of dogfood too?

Please don't take this the wrong way, but you are not being a very good owner to your dog by feeding her all that junk.

Your dog needs to be feed a good high-quality dog food and not a diet of junk food that's bad for people - let alone puppies. She is a growing pup and she needs a balanced diet to grow up to be a healthy adult.

Talk to your vet and see what he or she recommends. A high-quality food like Eukanuba, Iams, Nutro or Science Diet would be a good place to start. Treats like carrots are wonderful. They are crunchy but they aren't high in fat.

Please stop feeding her junk. You may think you are spoiling her but you are really not. She will have a nicer coat, better skin, better teeth, stronger bones and a much longer, healthier life if she is feed a good diet.

Not what you have been feeding her, that's for sure. I don't know about everything on your list but some types of peanuts can be very bad for dog's health. I would recommend getting her on a high quality dog food. If all you have been feeding her is junk human food, you may have to get her used to dog food over a week or two, not all of a sudden. If you want her to be healthy and live as long of a life as possible, you should make sure she gets food with all the good nutrients that she needs. Whatever you do don't feed her anything with chocolate, it's toxic to dogs and can kill them.

I suggest talking to your vet if you need help choosing the best dog food for her. Good luck and have fun with your puggle!
