My dog put a piece of rat poison in its mouth, but, luckily she spit it out, so I flushed its mouth with water. Will she be ok?

When my dog got ahold of a prescription pill that fell on the floor, I called poisen control for animals, they charged about $30-40.. Very nice and helpful though. They said to give the dog hydrogen peroxide to make her vomit. I did and she did vomit. Then I found the pill on the floor the next week.

The vet would know best, obviously... why is there rat poison where the dog can get it though? A little more caution goes a long way to a dog to have a suitable length of life.

Rat poison will only hurt the dog if it was ingested. If you have concerns call the vet. Keep an eye in the dog for any symptoms.
