We own 2 Golden Retriever-mix pups. [male&femle] They have been fixed since before we got them almost 2 years ago. They're supposed to be out of the chewing/digging stage, but they ALWAYS tear our fence, picnic table, siding, etc. They're growing to be a big burden, and if this prblem isnt fixed soon, I'll have to sell them. Its too much to deal with. So please, HELP!

I have just received my frist chihuahua and she is 3 years old. She weighs about 3 pounds and I'm not sure yet if she has been neutered. If she has been neutered, then would that determine if she will have periods or not? I hear that no matter what the breed of the dog is, all dogs have their periods twice a year and it last 4-15 days. Is their anyway we can prevent her froming having her periods?

Many dog books that I own state "DO NOT KEEP FOOD IN YOUR DOGS BOWL FOR MORE THAN 15 MINUTES. THROW AWAY THE DOG FOOD AFTER 15 MINUTES OR THE FOOD WILL GET STALE AND GET YOUR DOG SICK" I always have dry food out for my Chihuauha and I keep it until she finishes eating it. Is this wrong?? Is my little girl gonna get sick?!! Please help!!!!!

nothing stops her - the vet told us to pinch her ear - but it doesn't stop her
we can't tap her on the nose as she has a problem with a tear duct

Do you think some dogs are just born with a need to snap at any one they meet?

Our wonderful baby Tink just turned 1 year old and she is wonderful. We are looking at getting another dog and have a dilemma. We would love to get another lab and have a great relationship with our breeder, but would 2 big dogs INSIDE be a total mistake?

Anyone with helpful information and experience would be appreciated!

Oh, we have a huge fenced in yard and doggy door and Tink is very mellow for her to still be a puppy. She would love a sister, but we don't want to go crazy!

My dog only licks me in the ears. I thought she just loved my ear smudge but when I took her to the dog park the other day, I noticed several dogs (during their ritual sniffing) pausing for ear licks.

Why do they do this?

We have a two year-old Vizsla and I would like to get another, slightly older dog so she won't be alone during the day. We were wondering if the companion might also help her deal with the arrival of a baby (we're not pregnant now, but are looking to get pregnant soon). Has anyone seen any research on this or have any first-hand experience?

ok so i found my dog (Rex) in October of last year. we already had another dog (Hans). Hans gets mad and kinda bites Rex when has a toy in his mouth. i try and try to make it stop, but its not working. its NOT a real BIG problem, but its still isnt a good thing. im NOT going to take them to obediance training, cause its really not that bad, i just want to know how to stop it. they are FINE together and they play, but Hans will sometimes do this, and i dont know how to help this situation. any suggestions, i need some help. HAns is also teritorial, he doesnt mark around the house, but when im petting hans, and rex comes up, hans SOMETIMES growls @ him, but thats all he does. im SURE that hans will NOT hurt rex, but i just still want to know how to help this....thanx a BUNCH, and God Bless♥

PS.
i forgot to say, Hans IS fixed, but Rex isnt..im getting him fixed this month or in March. if that make ANY difference @ all i dunno.. :) thanx again ♥HiD♥

I have a chihuahua (Pancake) and a 50-lb Mutt (Shaik)
Shaik could no doubt hurt Pancake very easily, but Pancake is always attacking Shaik. Shaik is very submissive, so he will just stand there and take it, but when she keeps attacking him he will get mad and bark at her and king of lunge at her. Should I let him do what he's going to do? Would he kill her or hurt her bad? Or does he understand that she is small and that we wouldn't wnat him to hurt her? I'm just afraid that he's going to bite her bad and hurt her. Anyone have any ideas, suggestions, or tips?
