They have Pet Cemeteries, but most people, if they have a yard big enough, just bury the dog in the yard. Then don't forget where they have buried him, and don't forget to tell the new owners when you sell the house.

Depends on what the owners want.
People with gardens can legally bury dogs in them provided they do it fairly deep.(This is legal in the UK where I am-don't know about American law)
There are also pet cemeteries where you can bury your pet if you don't have a garden but the body will only be left for so many years as they usually have limited space. They are also expensive.
There are pet crematoriums where your pet can be cremated and they will either scatter the ashes for you or give them to you to keep or to scatter somewhere special to you or your pet. These are also expensive.
You can have your vet send a pets body to be cremated too. This is much cheaper but not as popular these days as many pet owners want to have something more special-if you do this you don't get the ashes as budget pet cremations are done in bulk.
I know because 1 of my dogs died 2 years ago.I had him cremated and scattered the ashes in his favourite place to play(a local wood.)

You can still put them in the garden if you want. There are pet cemeteries in various places that might suit. You can get it cremated at the vet if you have it out down or if it dies you can take it there to have cremated. They do 'dispose' of bodies in other ways too...usually a contractor that will take it to a biohazard type landfill. Not the best way to say goodbye. You could always get it stuffed like on Scrubs!

If the dog is put to sleep you can request the vet to arrange a burial at a pet cemetory. You pay through the nose for it and it's very much like a human burial plot and ceremony with head stone the works. Other wise, they are sent to a specialist company and are cremated. You can always request the ashes after though for a very fair price.

You decide how you want your dog to be treated when it dies, but it has undoubtedly given you all of it's love and affection during it's life so it deserves a good ending. I had a box made for mine and buried it in the garden in a very nice spot where I can see the place from the house. She was a wonderful friend and it is still very painful to think of the good times we had together. Pets deserve a loving and respectful treatment both during their lives and at their ending.

the owner of the dog decides what happens to the body. if ur dog dies at home many people make a grave for it in their gardens, or otherwise they have pet cemeteries. u can also have ur dog cremated and put in an urn to be kept in the house.
if the dog dies at the vet, they will release the body to u if u wish for u to bury it where u wish, otherwise it will be cremated.
it is a decent question that many people have to think about when their dig nears death, so dont let anyone tell u otherwise!
hope i helped!

Burying your dog in your yard is subject to city ordinances. So that would depend on where you live. If you allow the vet to take it, the body will beplaced in a freezer until it is picked up by the crematory. Once picked up it will be cremated (burned). If you want you can pay to receive the ashes. You will get the ashes back in an urn. My old dog is in an urn, we are not allowed to bury pets in our yards, and he sits on top of a shelf in my living room.

I have recently lost 2 dogs. they had to be put to sleep and then they were cremated. Now they are home with us. There is a big diffrence in there ashes. one was about 89 lbs and the other about 5 lbs And just so you know the ashes are white not black.

The dogs, that served you so well, so loyally, was so friendly to you deserves more than that sweetheart. It should be buried appropriately. Dont have to be in a coffin or in any special place. People should bury it in their back porch, so that the dog who lived in that house, played around that porch will rest in peas in the house area. And if it was my dog, i would be happy to know that here lies my good friend, in front of my eyes. Never leaved me when it was alive and never left me even after death.
And people, if you see a dog dead on the street, at least have the decency to call the appropriate authority in that state, let them do something about the dog. If i saw any dog lies in the road, dead; i would myself bury it nearby. Just remember, that they are our BEST FRIEND.

When one of my beloved animals dies--no matter if its a dog, horse, cat or goat I bury it with the respect it deserves. I have made a few caskets or used a box depending on the size.I have a funeral for them.I believe there souls go to heaven too. God created all living things and put us in charge of being there keepers.God says take care of the animals. So I give them the respect they deserve.
