ive heard from many that the males in a family will fight for superiorty the best thing ive heard is to remove them or breed the male(son) so he is king of his throne.

They are fighting for attention for one thing since Hubbie says it happens more when you are home. If not, then why are not all the dogs spayed/neutered? They should not inter breed! Males will fight over females even if they are spayed. Depending on how spacious your home is 5 may be overcrowding them.

Are you making sure these dogs are getting enough exercise and fresh air? Winter months inside can be hard on everyone. It is called "cabin fever" and does affect animals being cooped up inside because of bad weather. Easier to get on each others nerves, bored, restless!

The 2 yr. old male pup is now adult. If your females are not fixed that is a big part of problem and risking a bad breeding situation.
You may not be aware that you are somewhat causing jealousy between the 2 in some way. Need to stop and look at the situation, environment, space and the way you do or don't spend quality time with each dog individually and as a pack. If you are allowing and not addressing the problem as the human pack leader then you have a stressed out bunch of dogs.

Muzzling and putting in cages is like putting a band aid on a gaping wound. It fixes nothing and tends to make the males more aggressive when out of cages. Loving these members of the family means taking charge of bad behaviour and actually working to correct it properly. What is your husband doing different if they do not act up with him??

Are they fixed yet? If not, do so. This may help with some of the aggression. Remember, dogs should ONLY be bred to advance the breed, not just because you feel like it. Have them fixed and your problems may clear up.

This is a sign of the younger one trying to establish dominance or becoming the Alpha of the pack. Your dog for whom is trying to gain the dominance as pack leader obviously views your husband as the Alpha member of the pack already and that's why he does this more when you're around. Stick to training, obedience, and rewards for good behavior.

Are the dad and son neutered? If not then this may be why they are fighting.
