We own 2 Golden Retriever-mix pups. [male&femle] They have been fixed since before we got them almost 2 years ago. They're supposed to be out of the chewing/digging stage, but they ALWAYS tear our fence, picnic table, siding, etc. They're growing to be a big burden, and if this prblem isnt fixed soon, I'll have to sell them. Its too much to deal with. So please, HELP!

I owned a Boxer x dog in a previous relationship. He started chewing and taking clothes off the line. We got a dog trainer to train him and it all stopped.

If you can't afford a dog trainer, buy a check chain from the pet store. Make up command for your dog such as... No! when you don't want them to do whatever it is they are doing, Sit, stop, walk etc.

put the chain on and then start teaching the commands, if they do something wrong during the training, give a quick tug on the chain and say no (don't forget to release the tug straight away).

Hope this helps

Dogs are destructive when they're bored. Try walking them more often, at least 3 times a week for at least 45 minutes each walk. Also, provide them a lot of toys and bones to chew on. Giving them away will not solve anything, because then who ever you give them to will have the same problem and then will also get rid of them, if you truly care for them you will find a solution to their behavior. If necessary you may want to contact a dog trainer.

Each dog needs to bite to wash and cut their enamel. She desperately needs her possess "toys" to chunk and there are a lot around in the marketplace to purchase. The "kongs" with the deal with inside often preserve most puppies severely concerned for a long time. She may be performing up out of boredom too. You place her "toys" and bones in a certain place or give them to her, and encourage her to play with them. You continue to ought to let her recognize what's proper to "play" with and that is for you to teach her about, a firm "no" if she touches whatever she mustn't, and it's up to you to be consistent. It doesn't sound like she has been educated very good thus far in any respect. Additionally don't forget that some dogs do regress a little bit at times, so you haven't simplest to be constant however tolerant to a degree as good. My dog failed to bite furnishings (tons of toys) but he did steal bins of butter menthols if he observed them. I loved the reply about the Christmas tree.

Maybe they are bored. Get them muzzles. Do they have any toys to chew up? Are they outside all the time? Maybe you should let them out, then when they start digging up stuff, immediately take them inside. Do you take them for walks? Sounds like they have energy they need to burn.

sometimes digging and chewing can mean something else. It could meant that your dogs are bored and need to get out some energy. Try and take your dogs for walks everyday

Correct them. Tell them "NO" in a loud voice when you see them chew.
Also spray a solution of vinegar and cayenne pepper all over the fence, picnic table etc.

There is this spray in a can you can get at most pet shops. It is a repelant for cats and dogs. You spray it on areas you don't want them to go around. Most of the sprays have to be put on daily.

when dogs acts in ways the owner doesn't like, it's usually because the dogs are not getting the attention they need from their owner! start taking them for walks, or playing with them for a bit every day...you may see a change in them when you are consistent...a dog is a dog, but they will do anything for their owner's love & attention!

They sound like they are bored - big dogs like that need daily walking and meaty bones to keep them occupied at home. If you dont have time to walk them pay a local kid to do it for you.

well you could try rubbing hot peper juice on the things they are chewing on and once they get ahold of that one time they'll not like that and should get them to stop my dog trainer told me that and i tried it and my dog hasn't chewed up anything elase in the last 6mo so good luck
