we know she had parvo because a pup from another litter got so sick and had to take her to the emergency vet and they put her to sleep..the moma dog has survived ....it has been about a week and the pups that are breastfeeding are showing no signs of the virus...shouldnt they have shown some signs by now and if not,how long would it take for them to show signs?

Separating a nursing female and her pups won't do you any good now. If they're going to get Parvo, they've already got it.
Best you can do is treat the Parvo. I know, vets don't give much chance, but I've nursed a Huskie with Parvo through it. I spoonfed her liquids every 1/2 hour, and when she vomited even that up, I took her into the clinic for subcutaneous water injections. This way, she didn't become dehydrated even though her stomach couldn't hold water.
My dog was 3 months old when she got it, and she got over it within 2 weeks. Good thing is: once they have had it, they'll never get it again.
It could also be that YOUR pups have taken in some immunity from their Mom.
Good luck

What symptoms make you think she has Parvo? If she has been vetted properly then Parvo is questionable diagnosis. Irregardless, if the mom appears sick then get off the internet and get mom and litter to the vet.

Realize it is the weekend but most vets have a emergency after hours contact #, vet on call situation.

There are several serious things that could be making the mom act sick and do affect the pups as bad as Parvo would. They would have had to be exposed to the Parvo from another sick dog. It does not appear out of thin air, especially if the dogs are being kept inside where they should be this time of year.

As suggested, seperate mom from pups--really seperate as in different rooms. Start bottle feeding pups. Boost mom's fluids. Signs of Parvo, if that, would be vomiting and really nasty smelling stool! Watery, possible bloody. Not eating or drinking. But she could have a infection from having the pups that can cause those symptoms. Her milk can turn poisonous and she will refuse to nurse! This is as deadly as Parvo.

Keep them all warm! And find a vet at any cost! If she makes it and hope she does then she needs to be spayed, please.
