can anyone recommend a good dog training class in toronto

I do not live in Toronto although I have visited.
I searched and found that Toronto has a "Toronto Dogs" site for dog owners and they do have a discussion section.
Stop by and chitty chat with some fellow Canadians and see who they recommend.

sorry i cant help you....all i can say is if you go to a petsmart or anything like that they dont train correctly....im a dog trainer and all you have to do is search it is hard....go to a park sometime and see if there is ever a group of people around with dogs and ask them...or better yet go to a dog show and watch the obedience and if they are good ask them where they get their training at...good luck.......
