ok so i found my dog (Rex) in October of last year. we already had another dog (Hans). Hans gets mad and kinda bites Rex when has a toy in his mouth. i try and try to make it stop, but its not working. its NOT a real BIG problem, but its still isnt a good thing. im NOT going to take them to obediance training, cause its really not that bad, i just want to know how to stop it. they are FINE together and they play, but Hans will sometimes do this, and i dont know how to help this situation. any suggestions, i need some help. HAns is also teritorial, he doesnt mark around the house, but when im petting hans, and rex comes up, hans SOMETIMES growls @ him, but thats all he does. im SURE that hans will NOT hurt rex, but i just still want to know how to help this....thanx a BUNCH, and God Bless♥

PS.
i forgot to say, Hans IS fixed, but Rex isnt..im getting him fixed this month or in March. if that make ANY difference @ all i dunno.. :) thanx again ♥HiD♥

Hans is clearly the 'alpha dog' in this household. It may get a little better once Rex is neutered as Hans won't see him as the fierce competition he is now.
When I've had problems with jealous dogs (I've had a few!), I would make them sit on either side of me and pet them at the same time. If one would growl, I would stop petting him and say a sharp "NO". Then when he stopped growling, I would pet him again.
This way, you communicate to Hans that you don't like his behavior, and if you are consistent, he should stop or at least get a little better.
It doesn't sound like a bloody fight problem, so you may just let have Hans have his seniority and step in only when he bites.
Good luck to all of you!

Hans is the Alpha dog because he was there first. This is just his way of reminding Rex of that. Maybe next time Hans gets snippy, firmly tell him no and put him in another room for a short time. If they play together otherwise, this is just a minor territorial thing and nothing to really worry about. It's kinda like bringing another baby into the house when the first born has been the big cheese all along. Firm but loving discipline will eventually win out...we had the same problem with our dogs.

When Rex has a toy, keep an eye on Hans, if Hans tries to bite Rex, scold Hans and put him outside. If Hans ignores Rex, give Hans a treat. Same goes for the territorial problem.

With my dogs when one growls while playing I take away the toy and don't let them have it back for a few days and if it happens again I do the same -Dogs aren;\'t stupid mine usually get that they growl they lose the toy-Hans needs to make sure that Rex knows who is Alpha-You need to make sure that Hans knows it isn't him it's you' once he gets that he won't have to reprimand Rex. Look in your video store for "The Dog Whisperer" or watch it on TV if you get the national Geographic channel-Heis incredible at showing people how to reassure their dogs and about being in a pack(which dogs need and you are the pack leader-He's very good at curing your problem in a very kind and logical way-Good luck_mellie

Give Hans an assigned place (Corner) and make him go and stay there for 3 min when he nips Rex

Fix Rex and the fighting should go down. Our males fight all the time, and this is the case. However, the fighting is not too bad, and the unneutered dog is a stud, so he WON'T get spayed. But it would help the fighting if you got it done soon.
It is always worse though when one dog is unneutered because he tends to be more territorial and it bugs the hell out of the original dog who was there first.

Wow! that's a hard one! It seems such as you have one that's no longer prepared to play via the regulations, or to paintings for what she gets or feels like she merits. considered one of those %. member can incredibly make your %. a residing hell! the different dogs won't understand her, and would even activate her, inflicting some severe injuries. i'd seek for suggestion from with a behaviorist first, to be sure if there incredibly is a psychological element right here. If no longer, and you have tried a protracted holiday, then i'd recommend looking a house for her the place she is all on my own. One the place she would be suitable dogs, and not would desire to combat for her place interior the %.. possibly Chi rescue delivers help to with that? i'm hoping all of it works out. i think of all of us basically choose our packs to be happy. If she acts up returned- possibly you would be able to desire to toss a chicken at her! Oh, wait she's too small- possibly chuck a Cornish sport chicken!
