It seems that no matter what a dog does, it is always the owner to blame, why is that? Has anyone ever heard of genetic problems? Do you know that no amount of training will cover up most of them? Why can people accept the fact that sometimes it is the dogs fault?

my dog`s 2 years old & she`s always in the house sleeping & stuff. but i can`t tolerate her doing number #1 & # 2 everywhere in the house anymore. So, i decided to let her stay outside ( but still in the house, not the porch) with my another male dog. she keeps whinning & scracthing the door. i feel guilty leaving her outside , so i go pet her when she`s quite but when i leave, she keeps whinning non-stop! is there anything wrong with her or is it normal? or she`s not used to live outside. what can i do to make her stop? she gets along well with the male dog

I have two chiahuahuas that have never been trained to go outside. They can use puppy pads, but sometimes they even miss those. My dogs are four years old and my mom has offered to pay me $100 if I train them because my dad wants to get rid of them. I really don't want to get rid of my dogs, does anybody have some tips or instructions on training a chiahuahua? Or a regular dog?

The blood is trickling from his inside. The blood is red and liquid, not black or tarry. The area is very sensitive. I am _extremely_ broke - is there anything I can do before I try to take him to the 24/7 emergency vet (who charges more than I make in a week).

I adopted (ie Shelter) a Chihuahua yesterday. They said that he was picky with food, and that they had managed to get him to eat kibbles and bits. Yes, I know that it's not the best food but we don't want to switch him to fast. Our problem now is that he has not eaten anything since we brought him home, he has barely had any water. I know when dogs are stressed they don't eat. I wouldn't worry except he his so small that he may starve or dehydrate before his appetite kicks back in. How can I encourage him to eat something? I have even offered people food (not normal for me to allow that) and he is not interested.

As a side question we also have cats. Is it safe if he eats thier food or they eat his? The cats are very interested in his food even though he is not.

Thank you!

He seems to be feeling better. We have a fenced in yard and there is nothing for him to get into. Could this be a spider bite or maybe from one of my other dogs. I have three all together. Please help.

Could anyone out there who owns any of these dogs tell me roughly how much exercise a:

* Adult Samoyed
* Adult Lab/Golden Retriever
* Adult Cocker Spaniel
* Adult Staffordshire/Bull Terrier
* Whippet

Would need daily. I have looked at some of the breed requirements but they all say different times.

Thanks

Everyone out there that really wants a pure breed dog, why not go to the rescue sites? They have wonderful, beautiful dogs available for adoption, and are up to date on shots, neutered or spayed, and are really looking for a loving, responsible home,

I have a blind mini dachshund whom has become a close part of the family. He's always had little tantrums when he's hungry, or something along those lines, but lately he's been screaming and we have no clue why. He stretches his neck, thrashes, bites and screams.We think it's a stomach problem, but we're not totally sure, for when he eats he's fine for a while. We've brought him to the vet, and they haven't done anything but a routine check-up. Is there anything specific we should get him tested for?

Vet said not to worry. Last twice they cleared up. This time they do not appear to be going. They do not seem to bother my dog but they do look nasty. First outbreak was treated by antibiotics and they eventually went but I don't think it was the treatment that cured them I just think they took their course and went. The second outbreak cleared up without treatment and fairly quickly but not this time.

My auntie and uncle want a puppy. They live in a good sized house with a medium garden. They are able to give it around an hour exercise in the week and more on weekends. They have been looking at Golden Retrievers and English Springer Spaniels but they're not sure. Which breed do you think would appeal most to them.

Many thanks.

I applied it last night, and this morning there is a fist-sized patch of oily fur. When I initially applied it, the patch was the size of my fingertip. In reading the instructions, I understand that you aren't supposed to get any of the substance on fur at all. Does this mean I should reapply?

I have a 2 month old pup and I want to train him to get used to the collar. At first, I put it on him (the collar was very lose so it wouldn't choke him) and he seemed to be ok with it. The next day however, even when he saw the collar he got scared as hell and since then I can't put it on him. Pls tell me what to do.
