He seems to be feeling better. We have a fenced in yard and there is nothing for him to get into. Could this be a spider bite or maybe from one of my other dogs. I have three all together. Please help.

Sounds like he has an abcess that has erupted. I would clean the area with some peroxide and keep it clean till you can get him into your vet to have it fully treated and him put on some antibiotics to help cut down on any infection.

Trip to the vet time, it may be a puncture wound from something in the yard. A bite from one of the other dogs or a spider. But the one I'd worry about most is a possible pellet lodged in there.

Depending on the size of the hole and if you know for sure there was NO hole yesterday when it was swollen would limit the possibles to an absest or insect bite or sting.

could have impaled himself on something, or as you say, a possible bite from one of your dogs, but there would be other marks. i have poodles, and with all that hair it's hard to tell, spider? possibly? how deep is it? you have to think about infection. i would shave the area to get a better look. and go to the vet if it looks serious. you said it was swollen. thats most likely infection. is the area warm, and red? if so, go to the vet

Sounds like an abcess me...Take him to the vet because sometimes the poison in the abcess can get in his system and make him very sick..I lost a cat to the same
