I am looking into getting another dog. I have a 8yr old shepard mix and love him. I also have a 4yr and a 2yr old children at home. I would like to get a chocolate lab but everyone says that they are to hyper? I understand that all puppies are work but should I just stay away from this breed? Is there any websites that match your personality to a certain breed of dog?

I've been asked to think of a good name for a police dog (German Shepherd) and I can't think of one. Any ideas for an original and meaningful name (not Bobby!!)? Serious answers only please.

I am looking for about 10 unique/interesting dog stories. I need them
to be original they should not be copied and pasted from websites. I
want unique work that I can use without fear of copyright violations.

The stories can range from silly to touching and everything in between.

My black lab, who just turned three, is usually very warm and
attentive. She basically would follow me around the house. But now,
she only says hello to me for a minute or two, and very much likes her
own space. What is going on? What should I do? She has not been
spayed, so she may be coming into heat? Or is it possible that she is
preganent??

Okay so I searched for similar answers to no avail. My dog is 6 years old. We inherited her a a year and a half ago. My husbands mother passed away and we adopted her. She is a very loving and wonderful girl. She does her duty outside. We have bought her several beds. For some reason she pees on it when were arent looking, but only once. She then digs it around then sleeps in on it. I bought this sparay to remove odors. As soon the odor is gone, I will smell fresh urine, she pees on it again! I have never seen her actually peeing on it, but its obvious from the smell.
Short of buying her new beds over and over....she will just urinate on them too, is there a reason why she does this? I fugure I there must be a solution to put on it that will dter her from peeing on it again, but still sleep in it. Help! Its getting expensive!

Are these for real or are they for suckers like me? I was at Petco with my Yorkie yesterday and a Eukanuba salesperson talked me into buying breed specific dog food for Yorkies. I've heard a lot of bad stuff about this brand, but thought if it's for Yorkies it must be good...after I got home I looked up other dog foods and came across Royal Canin for Yorkies, is this one better? Are they both gimmicks? She is currently on Nutro Ultra, which I've heard is one of the better ones. When I switch her from puppy to adult food, should I just keep her on Nutro Ultra or switch over to one of these breed specific foods. Also, she is 8 months old, when can I start weaning her to adult food?

my dog angie a mixed black lab, has the bad case of runny stool and has had it for over three days now. no signs of being sick , shes perky and and playful. we started to feed her on pedigree canned dog food for coupleof months now and then my wife caught a sale on alpo dog food. i don't know if this has caused it . so put her back on pedigree dry food and little mix of pedigree canned food to see if any change. still the same. she is always in the cat litter box and that makes me sick and also in garbage can in kitchen. so now i watch her carefully.its hard to tell what she has eaten .she just can't help it it just runs out of her. any help on this.
