I wouldn't get a westie-they used to be a lovely breed but due to over breeding they have become increasingly neurotic-there are still some great ones around but that doesn't help you if you get a crazy one with a soft curly coat-also they almost all seem to have skin problems which could mean a lifetime of putting up with a dog scratching non stop or a lifetime of a dog on steroids-dont do it!!get a rescue puppy.

i have two westies and they both have skin problems which was caused by their diet.we changed their food to nutro which has resulted in them have lovely coats they are lovely dogs and are nice natured if brought up right. i rescued mine of the Internet from a lady who couldn't cope on her own with them it worth the search depends wether you want a puppy or an adult one
