I applied it last night, and this morning there is a fist-sized patch of oily fur. When I initially applied it, the patch was the size of my fingertip. In reading the instructions, I understand that you aren't supposed to get any of the substance on fur at all. Does this mean I should reapply?

it's fine. you are supposed to part the hair when applying. it spreads. what it does is soaks into the skin. it gets into the sebacious glands, and then the secacious gland distributes throughout the body. then when a flea bites your dog, it kills the flea. it has low toxicity to dogs and humans but you really don't want to get it on you. it's a chemical, and like any chemical, you don't want it on your hands to where you may ingest it. don't reapply. just don't touch that area on the dog for a few days, and don't bathe him for at least 3-4 days. jus do it again in 30 days, and try and get it down to the skin more.

The oily patch will spread over the dogs body and disappear with time.Do NOT rub in or wipe the area.

Do not rub in ! It will absorb into the pets skin. Read the box carefully and it will tell you not to come in contact to your hands or eyes. If you do get some on your hand like I usually do (it hard not to all the time) wash your hands the same as if you were a food handler.

Just put it between the shoulders and let it dry. it soaks into the dogs hair pores and even if you give a bath after it dries it will still be there . There really isn't right and wrong way of applying it.

you apply it at the back of the neck . part the hair and apply on skin.wait afew days before apply another dose as you don't want to over dose .you will know if it works in a few days just look to see if there are fleas alive on your pet.don't forget to do the beding and things .i put my dogs beding in a garage bag and hang it in the sun for a few hours it hatches the fleas egg and kills them .
